I'm quite interested.
Would you elaborate a bit more, please? About flat/v-shaped, volume height,
everything you find important. And how it fits ear canal? Silicone tips that
come with it. For ety it was a disaster, till I found they kept shure olives.
Strange is how posters describe phones differently. One is flat or v shaped.
The other the same. Reading reviews, seems dunu 2000 and fidue are ones
to follow for x5 II.

The DN-2000 is very balanced and fairly flat, not v-shaped.  The frequency response graph is somewhere online.  Fit is tricky because it is heavy and has design elements that are a bit odd.  The nozzle has no lip so the tips can slip off once they get a bit old.  They do not fit very deep.  They come with a ton of tips and actually have my absolute favorite tips that I now use with my 64 Audio U10.    The dark grey silicone was very nice for a balanced sound.  The Clear/white tips are softer and may provide more bass.  I never found much difference with the colored steel spacers.  There are some very good detailed reviews of the DN-2000, much better than I can provide here.

Cool.  I hope it works for you. Sound wise, I think it is possibly the best sounding IEM under $500 if balanced is your thing.  It reminds me very much of an IEM version of my HE-500 headphones.  If it only had the comfort of the 64 Audio U series or a Shure SE series.

Just as I made my mind and chose to get Dunu dn-2000, I learned I should
wait few months, before being able to do that.
Locally, there is a seller of Audio Technica. To bridge waiting with no phones
at all, I might buy ath-e40 model. Someone knows something about them?
If does, how they go with x5 II?
Any other option? Situation is quite unnerving. If you ask what happened to
old phones, here it is: I replaced the x5, since first device was broken, with
low volume and who knows what else. I assume that player killed my etys.
If it is possible at all.

1. shenzhen amy store, $300, plus customs, probably $100.
aliexpress, I mean.
 
2. amazon from US, $250, plus shipping and customs $150.
 
For no special reason I will use shenzhen way. A good friend of
mine will drive me through the path, since he imports from
aliexpress quite often.
 
Frankly, this issue drives me mad. Good side is that Grateful
Dead through x5 would medicate it all.

I don't have much Hendrix other than a few studio albums.  Such a short career.  I have around 2TB of Dead on my home system.
 
I don't buy from Aliexpress since I go to Shenzhen a few times a year.  I will actually be there tomorrow.

I have around another 2TB of live shows from lots of different folks with lots of Allmans, Little Feat, Jefferson Airplane, CSN(Y), Jerry and Merle, Jerry and Dawg, and so on but I haven't listened to even a fraction of it.
 
I would send the seller an e-mail.  Both listings are from the same store "Shenzhen Amy Store".  Send them a message and ask them directly.  It is unlikely that Dunu made any changes in the manufacturing processes so they are likely identical.

  Ok, tried everything again, single file, single album, different files etc., still doesn't work. However, now it doesn't show the list of files anymore, instead whenever I try to use Browse files or Play by category it shows:

Anyone else seen that error message? Any ideas what it means? I tried to reinsert cards, restart etc., to no avail.

I just had this (years-old) problem.  After trying
 
1.  Update Media Library;
2.  Charging;
3.  Hooking up via USB to my PC to see whether files appeared on the PC (they did);
4.  Swapping SD cards with my Fiio X3 to see whether each could read the other (X3 could after Update Media Library; X5ii could not);
5.  Removing both SD cards, doing another Update Media Library, then putting them back in and doing another update;
6.  Doing a "Return to Factory Default"
7.  Holding the power button down for more than 15 sec to do a hard reset;
8.  Checking out on Amazon.com that I can buy another one for only $234, and get it in gold as well (prettier than my titanium),
 
I finally discovered a Settings command called Reset Media Library, down toward the bottom.
 
It worked, and all is now well.
 
Whew! (and the gold one looked so nice!)
