When I took the UTWS5 out of the case, the reason it wouldn't power on seemed to be that it would power off at idle time after connecting with the smartphone despite being in the case.

In the end, the issue of powering on and connecting with the smartphone when in the case seems to be the cause of all the problems.
The same started to happen sporadically with my UTWS5 after upgrading to 1.71
On 1.5 it just was random connect-disconnect at the end of charging cycle.
This is the worst quality FiiO product I ever used in the past 12 years!:angry:

thanks, this is really important.

I would like to propose the following request for consideration. Could you make the transparency mode only when the music is paused. I don’t see the need for a transparency mode when the music is playing, but it will be mega-convenient on a pause, I always think about it at the checkout or just when buying a cup of coffee.

The connect disconnect issue while charging has happened to me since I turned on the battery management system and have never been able to get it to stop regardless of FW version or doing a reset.

Just updated to 1.71 and playing with LDAC, so far it works well! I even am listing at 990 without issue which is often choppy in LDAC and was impossible to use until I upgraded my phone from an S21 to the Fold 4.

Have the FW3 coming in when ever it arrives from AliExpress. So hopefully it will also work OK for LDAC.

Hello,

Iam new with the UTWS5, its such a great device.
I have been experiencing some issues with charging process, sometime one (L or R) doesn't charge, and iam shure that I left them in contact with the case...
I decided to rollback to the 1.5 version to see what is going to happen.
For now battery care is ON.

They are connected with my 7HZ timeless AE.

I now unpair the UTWS5 and pair them again when i want to use it. I also make well sure the units are off and BOTH charging lights are on.

@FiiO please resolve this issue as soon as possible

What's the problem with your UTWS5? If you mean the reconnecting problem when UTWS5 is in charging case with case closed,we have reported to the engineer about that. And they are trying to find a better solution for this issue.

Pins connection issue is kinda a reoccurring curse for all TWS adapters setup. Those who read the GO Pod thread will notice even that US$400 adapter has issue with some users just can't get the recharging pins to sit correctly in its over-designed case. I don't have that issue with my UTWS5 or GO Pod, but that is the exact same nightmare I have with my iBasso CF01. I'll suggest adding some kind of spring structure on the lip to force the adapters down in place when the lip is closed. Better yet, an extra proximity or magnetic sensor so the adapters know they are in a case even if the pins are not connecting and will shut itself down after a few minutes of idle.

I own and use the iFi GO Pod for about a week now and I have never-ever faced, or seen anyone else reporting, this issue: having the GO Pod arbitrarily reconnecting to my smartphone, while it is inside its closed case. One other difference I've observed between and GO Pod and my UTWS5 is that, as soon as I will place the GO Pod inside the case and they will sit there firmly, the music stops playing while the lid is open. The UTWS5 continues to play music even when it is inside the case and the lid is open! And, of course, I make sure that the UTWS5 sits firmly inside the case.

The GO Pod is an excellent device! Two issues it has: the case should have a few more millimetres in depth and the ear hooks should be designed like the UTWS5's.

God damn the connectivity on these things is ridiculously ****ed. Unbelievable for the price being charged. On my second unit (the first one was more or less DOA), keeping the device fully charged in my pocket all day, in the evening I try to use it and one side is 64%, the other side is just dead. Can't get it to connect at all. It's like at zero percent and I can't get a charging light. The charging case is fully charged. I tried repairing and everything. Just totally unresponsive. So far this has been a ****ing useless product for me and I'm furious.
