Has anyone tested the bluetooth range on these? Is there any latency issues when, for example, watching youtube?
I haven't tested latency properly but it’s there, I can tell from the slight discrepancy between the end of a song on my source and the time when it ends in my ears. These don’t support aptX LL.

Range is very good, an easy 10 meters without obstacles I’d say.

10 meters? I got a lemon, mine is only a few feet, if lucky. And really only usable if I'm sitting and working, can't use while walking.
I’ve been using it at the gym, moving around, crossing the floor, getting in handstands etc., in an interference-rich environment, and was surprised at how steady connection is. I wasn’t walking around with a ruler in my hand so 10 meters is an estimation, but I could go really far before signal got brittle.
(weird to think “the gym” is now an exotic destination)

What trips it up is what trips up any BT connection: wide-open spaces with no walls for signal to bounce back.

That 3020 chip is very recent and Qualcomm know a thing or two about designing BT chips, it would take a spectacularly crappy implementation to mess up connectivity to the degree you’re describing, Fiio wouldn’t have gotten behind TRN’s design if it was this dysfunctional in the first place I think. Maybe it would be a good idea to look into exchanging your unit - at least see what Fiio have to say.

I contacted Fiio about this a while back, they were basically worthless. Same with Aliexpress, I bought them from Fiio's aliexpress store, so I will no longer buy from either one.
Ah that sucks.

One last resort could be to get in touch with Fiio’s rep in your region and see if they’re willing to investigate even though you got your unit from AE.

I read that post a long time ago. Someone at Fiio (through Aliexpress) did try to help me for a while, but then they just stopped talking to me, so I gave up.
I also emailed a request to support when this first came up, but I never heard back from them.
But I'll try again. I received them just before CNY, so most of this was happening after CNY when Covid was bad over there.
