Yeah, bummer ($113.75 in CA), but not a terrible tradeoff for fast shipping and easy return if desired.ugh that $107 in tax is a killer

Likely hit with Customs fees in US though. Threshold is $800 and FiiO will list the value at 60% of the sale price ($809).$1349.99 on FiiO's official aliexpress store - https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000589596283.html

True, I try not to buy stuff knowing I may return it though so I’ll wait for more impressions to see how it is. Definitely has my attention at least.

You can install APK easily, not that it's hard to do to begin with download an app APK file and install but APK Pure makes the process as fluid as the Play Store![]()
Doesn't work for apps that authenticate using GooPS. Apple Music is one such app .Shame, but I subscribe to Deezer now as well and have been quite happy.

How come there isn't an Android 6.0 firmware option in order to have google play compatible with the old SoC?
Or is it a matter of getting something necessary from 8.0?

Undoubtedly same justification given for M11

It is an enforcement by Google.

It is wierd that they are willing to shoot themselves in the foot by releasing so many self-competing models within a short time frame.
But not willing to flex their money for a compatible SoC.
Other daps give an Android 6.0 firmware option for those that need Google Play. Though I wonder if uapp can still do Bitperfect in 6.0

X5iii uses 5.1.1 & does Bit-Perfect / No re-sampling in UAPP (but maybe it was a bespoke hi res driver added by the developer). It is wierd that they are willing to shoot themselves in the foot by releasing so many self-competing models within a short time frame.

Very good player but not better than the SP2000.
The way it was hyped, it was below my expectations - in terms of sound. I was expecting it would sound better than the SP2000.

Unreasonable expectations honestly... and "better" is never in absolutes, better what soundstage, resolution... etc? Also better is so much a factor of fit with your own preferences... for example I hate SP1000 and it's a great DAP.
Also guess resistors and tantalum capacitors need burn in...

Make sure to match transducers to the OI before commenting on the sound - 1.4ohm SE and ~3 balanced. Also worth trying different filters, it seems most users are preferring non-default filters.
