It looks like they are volume buttons when the screen is on, and track buttons when the screen is off, like the AP60II.

Oho, that's an interesting functionality...is there someway to prevent accidental presses of the physical buttons (akin to a lock?)

Now this is what I am looking for.

A lightweight, streaming-capable (save tracklist for travel pls), good sounding player. If only you added a larger battery and had it last for 20+ hours! Hope it will pair well with 1964-V3.

I currently have Hidiz AP60 PRO which is the same size and does about the same stuff but the firmware is horrible so I’m sending it back and grabbing a M6. I have ipads and android phone so I have more options with the M6, airplay, Bluetooth etc..and my favorite DAC chip is ESS so I’m all over this as soon as a refund goes through. How long via AliExpress and Fiio store do they get stuff to the states..Pennsylvania actually? Does anybody know roughly?

Not typing it all out - M9 puts out a lot more power, M6 has a lower noise floor.

M6 has Airplay to push past AAC, I gather?

Does anynone knows why M9 plays with 10 hours shorter than the M6 with 13 hours but has 1000mAh more battery power?

Well, Apple music has an Android app(https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.apple.android.music), So I would guess any Android based-dap would be able to load it.
