FiiO M15S Pocket Desktop-Level Player Discussion & Impressions Thread

I have both. Switching the songs and also on some soft musics starting at low level. Only on the left for this case. I can try to use the warranty. Not sure if another model would be ok
Dear friend,

If the pop sound happens when switching to songs with different sampling rate, it is normal. But maybe the sound in left is more noticeable?

Best regards

It is not related to sample rate (and no DSD in the party here). For the crackling happening after the beginning, they are not as strong as switching between songs, but you can here them. For me on the left, but here someone posted he hears them on the right. I guess changing my M15s would not change anything if it is a software issue. I am not even sure I can change it anyway.

Hello all,

I am interested in the M15S. Since I want to use it not only on the road, but also connected to the PC, the following points are very important to me, which I could not clearly understand so far:
  • If I use the M15S as a USB DAC connected to the PC, does it have a delay that would be annoying with PC gaming?
  • If I use the M15S as a USB DAC connected to the PC, can it also be powered via the connected USB port?
  • Can I leave multiple devices connected to the different outputs (IEMs and active monitors) and then select in the M15S which output is activated?
I would really appreciate your answers!

Greetings Bojan

Please clarify the specification indicates the presence of a 10-band equalizer, is it a system wide or does it only work in the native fiio player?
Dear friend,

Only in FiiO Music app currently.

Best regards

Dear friend,

Thanks for your interest in our product.
1. The delay of M15S is small. But if you are worried, you may check with other users or try in the local store by yourself first.
2. Yes, the M15S can be charged when connecting to the PC.
3. When the PO 3.5mm, 2.5mm and 4.4mm are output at the same time, the output will be given priority in the order of insertion.

Best regards

I would be grateful if you post your findings on the DAC delay in M15S. So far I suspect that this problem is/was related to the FiiO windows driver/app that doesn't not change the buffer size and affect all Fiio players:

Hi all, I'm new to high end headphones and was looking for a DAP to drive the HD800S.

I got an open box Fiio M15s, and the sound is good enough in Ultra High Gain mode (has to be plugged in to use this setting) that it makes me smile. On the highest battery setting, the HD800S still sounds demonstrably better than the Ananda Nanos, but there's some body missing that's present with Ultra High.

I'll have to wait until SoCal CanJam to hear just how much better the HD800S sounds with proper desktop amplification.

In general, the Fiio M15s is physically beefier than I expected, but other than that, I'm starting to really like it. I'll post more impressions after more time with it.

Dear friend,

The link you provided is not about the M15s. If you are worried, you could have a try in the local store first: https://www.fiio.com/wheretobuy

The HD800S likes power. Since the M15s has a balanced low output, I'd get something like the Schitt Jotunheim 2 and use the DAP for media control and DAC feeding the amp balanced when at home. Just a thought.

I would like some advice.

Right now I have a xdsd gryphon for my IEM's and usb player pro through phone, and was wondering how the m15s compared with that one?

I already have a high end desktop configuration for full size can's (Burson GT, Chord DAC, IFI DAC, Streamer etc...), so don't need it for that.

I am actually looking for a simple situation, all in one, but at least the quality and smoothness of the xdsd gryphon, did anybody do a compare with a portable dac like the ifi xdsd gryphon and the M15S?

Quality is important to me, because some said the BTR5/BTR7 is more than enough power for a IEM (and I hated the sound), but power says nothing about sound quality.
That's why I chose the xdsd gryphon (the mojo2 is also good, but so sooooo limited in features)

And I can imagine, it is really convenient to have a all in one. right now I have a iphone for calling, a extra android phone with me to play music (usb player pro) and the dac, a little too much sometimes.

thanks
