Have owners been able to discern a subjective audio difference from the aluminum vs. stainless steel version? I'd assume the stainless is a bit heavier. Any added benefits from one version to another? Better WiFi antenna strength due to different metals used for the chassis?

Nope - the "cheaper" ones are actually the M11 Plus in black and are listed above retail - so while cheaper in total cost they are being sold at a premium.go to ebay cheaper

The stainless version is indeed heavier. I have the alu version and I wish it was a bit lighter. I can't really see why anyone would want this in steel, much less pay more for that version...

Completely agree. I had pre-ordered the SS version and when that fell through I switched to the LTD one. I’m so glad I did. I liked the weight of the M11 Pro and this M11+LTD (aluminum) is 79grams heavier and I find it a little too heavy for my liking for carrying in pants pockets (my Sony ZX507 is perfect for that); the SS version adds *another* 95g for a total that is 174g heavier than the M11 Pro. Would need a hefty belt to hold up my shorts if I put it in a pocket, lol.The stainless version is indeed heavier. I have the alu version and I wish it was a bit lighter. The SS version may look really cool though, and you get the status of owning 1 out of 1000 produced. Plus, the added weight may be nice if using primarily in a desktop setting and not a mobile one.
Agreed. Fiio charges $150 more for the stainless steel frame. Internals are the same.

When all the AKM 4497EQ are use up, the aluminium version will be limited edition too

Ugh I keep looking at the m11 plus in ss and thinking I'd like to try it out, but I know I want to upgrade my se100 for the se200.
Does anyone know if FiiO will do an announcement for a new drop to the public of M11 plus LTD?
It seems at the moment only a few retailers have very few units and we are sharing with each other here about availability. I wonder if FiiO will just keep a slow trickle of units fed into the distributors or they will release a larger chunk supply for those of us that haven't had a chance to purchase.
