OK.

• I formatted my SD card and hard reset the M11 again.
• Setup Wifi.
• I manually downloaded the 1.0.9 firmware from Fiio, using the chrome browser on the M11
• Reinstalled 1.0.9 firmware
• I then installed APKPure from the Fiio store.
• Updated Play Store to v19.04.14 from APKpure (This also initiated an update to Play Services v20.09.14)
• Logged into the Play Store using my google account
• updated apps

Aiprotection on my Asus router got only one hit so far. I suspect its from APKpure, which i will remove.

@FiiO Just got my M11 yesterday and I've already discovered a bug in the new firmware.
Clicking on the settings icon causes it to exit out after a few seconds. I'm able to reproduce it everytime I open it.

Where did you read that? I didn't see it, would be surprised if they discontinued it. That would be too bad, Tidal is best of the three HD music apps I've used on the M11 (in terms of app quality and responsiveness, not necessarily music listening pleasure).

There haven't been any Android version changes that I am aware of. Just FiiO software. Though if there were minor android changes in the upgrades perhaps I wouldn't notice or it wouldn't be said. Certainly no major android version upgrades.

I'm not seeing anything on the preceding page saying Tidal is discontinuing Android 7 support any time soon, just someone speculating that eventually they will discontinue support, which is certainly highly probable but hopefully not a problem for the lifetime of our devices. I suppose you'd have to ask Tidal for more specific details in this regard. Certainly if I couldn't run Tidal on my shiny M11 dap I'd be a bit pissed with both FiiO and Tidal. To be sure they both have their issues, but who doesn't?

Whaaaaat?? Why would Tidal reject money like that? Does not seem like a good business move.

Whaaaaat?? I need Tidal for my Onkyo DP-X1A and DP-CMX1.

My bad, read it the wrong way. It’s just a possibility due to outdated OS.

I've hard reset the M11 many times on firmware 1.0.9 (previously) with no other changes or additions (only wifi setup) and I still saw the outgoing website hits on my router. 30 at a time.

I assume you want the log files with firmware v1.0.9 installed on the M11? Let me know.

Looks like the offending code has been removed? ( I will keep watching it)

I should get a free M15 for all this debugging.

That's not possible for them to update an OS from 7 to 8 an existing hardware. They've already stated with past products that they can't at this time. What you buy is what you get.

Hi， So you may not be able to do a factory restore or send the log files to us for check as well? Can restart or wiping the data help:
You could try to enter recovery mode by holding the power button and the next track button at the same time in power off mode first.
Then choose wipe cache partition to clear the password. （Press the power button for ensure.）

I have read zero info about that anywhere; they still support all the way back to Android 5 so why would they drop support for 7? You read it on Facebook huh?
