Great review. Pity you didn't do a side-by-side with the M11 but I understand why. How would you rate the M11 Pro against the current competition (DX220, R6 Pro and even DX160 - albeit the last one is ridiculously 'cheap' at $400)?

Unfortunately I'm in an even worse position to compare it to any of those since even not been able to check them out yet. Hiby has no presence in the Middle East, and the local distributor for iBasso has also stopped selling iBasso it seems

In the Technical Support - FAQ on M11, under no.12 there is an advice about the very quiet sound with bluetooth devices. It says to enable the Developer options and toggle on the „Disable absolute volume“ option. Iˋve tried it but didnˋt hear any change at all. The bluetooth output stays extremely low with wide range of bluetooth devices I have paired the M11 with.
Is it something that was working with the previous firmware versions and got lost later, or there is something more about that setting to know?

I have a question for you @FiiO
My samsung Galaxy s9 is able to output via usb otg to my Arcam Dac and charge at the same time using a usb-c otg dongle with PD (power delivery) the Fiio M11 will only do one at a time which affects it's ability to become a great transport. If I plug power in first it will charge but not output to Arcam, if I connect usb to arcam first it will play but not charge.
Is this a hardware limitation or can it be supported by software update?
It would be a major plus if you could use it as transport and not have to rely on battery power.

We discussed the FiiO M11 Amazon Music problem (https://www.head-fi.org/threads/amazon-music-problems-on-the-fiio-m11.916710/).
The strange thing is, I have almost the identical problem with Qobuz. As long Qobuz is running it works fine. But if I change to Amazon Music and get it running with the Neutron/HiBy 88.2 kHz trick, Qobuz would not work any longer. And you have to invest as much time in getting Qobuz working again. So far it is the same Neutron/HiBy trick for Qobuz as for the Amazon Music player. As I do not have this problem on my Samsung A8 (2018), please @FiiO investigate and come up with an update to get it right. Thanks.

Do you mean that the issue happen after running the Amazon Music app? If you run the Qobuz first after turning on the M11, the issue doesn't appear?

Does anyone have any success connecting their M11 to a network running WPA2 Enterprise?

I tried connecting the M11 to a network using EAP-TLS but the connection attempt doesn't show up in the radius server logs.

Using EAP-PEAP-MSCHAPv2 does generate a log entry


I've also attached a truncated log file from my syslog server. The log entries were generated by both my AP and radius server.

Please grab the log files from M11 to us for check if the issue happens again:
A: The logs files can be grabed from firmware 1.0.4 or above. So when the certain problem happens on the M11, please go to " Settings ->About device" , and continually tap“Model number", until the prompt "Have save output log to built-in storage" appears. Then please wait for about 20 seconds, and go to M11's internal storage, then send these two log files "M11-kernel-xx.log" and "M11-system-xx.log" to us for further analysis.

Please be noted that, please do not reboot the M11 before you grab the log files, because the log files will not be gotten after reboot.

Unfortunately that’s one of the ‘quirks’ of FiiO’s BT implementation. You have to max out the volume on the M11 when I’m BT mode and then adjust your volume on the amp. Anything less than max volume on the M11 and your overall volume level will be too low. This is definitely not ‘normal’. Even my basic iPhone is much louder in BT mode, and that’s on half volume on the phone. And I’m testing the R6 Pro now (will write up a comparison shortly) and can confirm that its BT implementation is similar to the iPhone (ie. more than loud enough at low volume on the dap). The FiiO M9 has the same ‘issue’ so it must be how they’ve implemented BT and has nothing to do with the disable absolute volume setting.

Can anyone tell me if their "Artists" are listed in correct alphabetical order on the Fiio music app on M11? Mine aren't. I have rebooted and re inserted and rescanned sd card, still the same, puzzled...
