Ok, here we go I have only listened for about half hour, tidal streaming only ,via my 3.5mm BGVP DM6.
This is a gorgeous device, I have come from the M9,it's leaps and bounds in all areas for me so snappy, the screen is devine.
The sound to me is lush all round (I'm no expert defining detail in audio lingo) . I have listened to Kayne Disclosure Hans Zimmer The XX, I thought for a minute the Bass might have been lacking but no I was wrong.
It drives the Dm6 with ease
I'm having trouble with my 3 year old sd card Dosent wasn't to play nice which is weird, it's only 64 gig, want to invest in a bigger card soon anyway so no biggy.

Thanks for the opinion. In your opinion dm6 and m11 good synergy? Not too bright? As for me m9 with dm6 from balanced sometimes too hot and bright in treble. As dm6 has hot treble and m9 tends to forward upper mids and lower treble where dm6 also a little bit harsh. So how is m11 in treble with dm6? I imagine m11 as a little bit brighter source. So how do you see this dap? Is it worth to upgrade after m9. The main advantage i see big operating speed increase.

Saw on your signature that you also have the zx300, how is m11 compared to it? Both single ended and balanced?

I've only listened balanced on either, I'm not sure which unit I prefer... The FiiO is more powerful but hisses a bit on both my Andromeda S and Fearless S8F (they are very sensitive). The M11 has a great screen, analog volume (wish the Sony had one) and it's fast but it's also a bit bulky. Android without the Google Play store is really annoying, but at least you can run Spotify/Tidal and the Amazon store works and is better than nothing (barely). Both players sound great but I'm liking vocals better on the Sony - the M11 is very detailed but a bit drier to my ears. I'll probably keep both.

If the M11 doesn’t work with the Sony Z1R 4.4mm it’ll be a deal breaker for me since this is my primary motivation for picking up this DAP (along with Tidal support)

I really feel gutted I was desperately waiting to get my hands on M11 to use the Z1R with balanced 4.4m but the 4.4 socket is not working Another issue I found if 2.5mm balanced out is used while charging there is significantly more noise and hiss

Hi Marius.
I do have the Nicehck 8 core copper cable running with DM6 i don't find it to bright at all,Its quite well in proportion I think anyway( 50 year old ears)
Its great leap from the M9 speed alone for me is great.

Check the format of the SD cards, FiiO supports only FAT32 and exFAT.

I have 2 256gb Samsung Evo select cards and one I took from my dx150 and put in the m11 and it worked fine. I put my new second card in the m11 and formatted it for internal use but then decided I had wanted to format it for portable and it then showed corrupted when trying to format for portable. I tried again after the latest firmware update which made adjustments for SD cards and it worked fine by formatting again.

Not all 4.4 connectors works well. I had a few 4.4 connectors that didnt connect well.

not sure what happened and we need to inspect the defective unit, but we had sold out thousands of M11 and amp module with 4.4 balanced socket and get not feedback about any design issues. most probable it is just an individual quality issues.

Strange - I have two Sandisk cards (256Gb) which I pulled directly from my X5iii and popped into the M11, worked without issue.
If I were formatting, I might be tempted to use a computer to create the format, rather than the player. No major reason (and if it were a camera, I would use the camera to format) but that's just what I would do.

How are you enjoying the sound? I'm over the moon with this thing. WiFi transfer also works really well, very fast and cable free. The whole package is a big step up for me from the X5iii, absolutely chuffed!

Hi,can M11 recongize your SD card correctly now?If yes,just insert it in M11 and ingore the format notification(1.0.2 has blocked the notification of this selection),you don't need to format it to use.
If your SD card can't recognized correctly,may be you can format it by computer,and then insert in M11 to use.
