Early in the thread some people we talking about standby life of the battery, I found that 4% draind off in 10 hours in standby.

I read in the audio options that ALL TO DSD will drain it much faster up to 50%. I have yet to try leaving it in that mode over night in standby but I'll test tonight.

Hope this helps.

i guess it depends what you call dead silent. I’m probably too deaf to notice :p
Or maybe we're just talking about different things?

I'm talking about hiss evident when no music is playing or when it is paused.

I can't hear any hiss during playback. If that was the case I would have already returned it in a blink of an eye - not only M11 actually but anything that would supposedly be a high end music player.

Ok then I can only repeat from my experience and my ears - when there’s no music playing or a track is paused there is zero hiss. None. Balanced, high volume. None. So either you’re super sensitive or I’m stone deaf

I have to ask has anyone had a chance to compare this BEAST to the Topping DX3 Pro? My D50 died and I dont want to fry the battery by playing the M11 in DAC mode for long periods.

To my experience the only player I have had that was as silent as you describe was DX90. It didn't make any difference whether you had the earphones connected or not - dead silence.

I play the M11 at the same volume as my phone via bluetooth.

Hope this helps as there is a cheeky wee setting in the fiio app :)

To get enough power output , the gain is a little high and the hiss from balanced is a little higher than 3.5 single end. it is normal .

Would having an extra even lower gain setting help? Or would increasing the volume to achieve same loudness then result in the hiss being same? Just an idea.

It's not a deal breaker and the M11 is excellent value for money, but the hiss is more audible than with some other gear I have.

@Caguioa Are you able to test with other bluetooth devices like a tv or a car stereo?

I only ask as in the past I have had devices play louder on other devices

Hope this helps
