Just thought I’d let everyone know that my BTR7 is cooked. It stopped working after 16 months of fairly heavy use and just went black while listening to audio. I can see that it is taking 2-4 watts of charge when I plug it in but it will not turn on…. reset or otherwise. I have many FIIO products and stand by them but this is my first premature failure from a FIIO device. I already ordered a BTR17 to replace it because these devices are awesome. But still. 😢

Still no word regarding the distortion compensation feature.

Why should it be so hard to state what's going on with this?

Guess we'll finally be able to use the BTR17 to "the way it meant to be uses" when they EoL the BTR19. If it would live that long.
The "USB Mic" is nice though, always been on my mind since i first plugged my BTR17 in. Hopefully the Mic was wired throught some ADC and not sounding like hot-A.
/ But they wired the Mic to the "POWER IN" USB Port, which is not very nice. Guess a "USB Splitter" have to be present in order for the Power lines to go into the Power Adapter, and Data lines to the USB then.
// Eh, better than nothing i suppose.

And i'm still waiting for the "Thesycon's USB Driver" update.

Hello @FiiO,
Yesterday I received 2 Fiio BTR17 with almost consecutive serial numbers.
They both have the same problem when connected via bluetooth. If I walk between 4 and 6 steps away from the bluetooth source the audio gets cut.
I tried with different PC's and mobile phones and it always happens the same, between 3 and 5 meters away, with only my body between the BTR17 and the bluetooth source and the audio cuts and eventually it disconnects. If there is a wall in between, even at just 1 meter from the source it also cuts.
It happens with all the supported codecs, BT LE and classic and with firmware 0.62 and 1.1.
All the devices to which I am connecting are at least BT5, with one being BT5.4.
Is this a problem with these specific units or batch (my dealer received them last friday 04 of april) or is this the normal range of the BT on this device?
I also have a BTR7 and BTR15 and both of them work fine with no problems with the BT connection.
Regards,
Gonzalo.

I would also like that feature! The buttons are tiny and not easy to find when using the device in pockets
The new update still did not fix this ! I’m extremely disappointed, please Fiio let us double click the volume wheel to change tracks 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

You really don't want to share serial numbers on internet like that.

As we discussed in another thread a while back:

Contrary to what many believe low impedance doesn't mean easy to drive, in fact the opposite is true if the low impedance is coupled with relatively low sensitivity and 2 ohms is crazy low impedance.

Strictly speaking no amplifier is going to be designed to accommodate an impedance of only 2 ohms, that is close to a dead short across the amplifier. Many portable headphone amps are rated at minimum 16 ohms but, again, the sensitivity matters a lot also so very low impedance but very high sensitivity will work OK while very low impedance AND low sensitivity will not.

With the low impedance the BTR17 is almost certainly running out of current resulting in the clipping you experienced.

That is just simple electrical properties, it has nothing to do with bit perfect or UAPP and won't change regardless of what answers you get to asking the same question in a number of different threads.

Also, taking the desktop power from the phone may not be provide sufficient current to function the desktop mode properly or possibly not at all which would not help driving the low 2 ohm impedance.
Wondering if I can connect BTR17 4.4mm to ibasso pb5 osprey. I understand double amping might lead to some distortion and need to volume match. Besides that anything else I need to worry about.
