The battery indicator on the BTR17 is horrible. It shows 40% and then turns off. I haven't seen 20% yet.

Dear friend,
Hi, the battery indicator in the BTR17 or the FiiO Control APP? Are you using the latest firmware?
We will also report to the engineer for improving. Thanks for the kind feedback.
Best regards
same experience here. my btr17 turns off itself shortly after reaching 40%. the battery gauge seems not quite reliable/accurate. already on the latest 0.62 firmware. It shows the same capacity both in the app and directly on the device. It always shows 40% and then turns off sometimes after 10 minutes, sometimes after half an hour. This happened to me three times in a row. Thank you for passing it on to your technicians![]()
My BTR7 seems to drive my SE846 fine so assume BTR17 should do same, even though I think they are 8ohm?Hi, connecting 2Ω IEMs to the BTR17 could be problematic because the btr17 is designed to handle impedances above 16Ω.
It is not recommended to connect below 16Ω because you could overload the amplifier. Extremely low impedance would cause the output power to go out of control, causing distortion or even damaging the IEMs. Be careful!
Hi!. These low-impedance, high-sensitivity IEMs will work well with the BTR17 without any problems, and also with the BTR7. Technically they'll work better with the BTR17 due to less distortion and background noise at high volume. If you say the BTR7 works well for you I don't see why you should buy a BTR17.My BTR7 seems to drive my SE846 fine so assume BTR17 should do same, even though I think they are 8ohm?
Can get an Open Box one for £139, worth it? Most software issues resolved now?

And, for example, I don't use the same IEMs for both the BTR7 and the BTR17. Is the BTR17 worth it? In my case, yes![]()
I use my BTR17 (4.4mm output) without problems with SE435, aonic 4 and fiio's fh7s other than the EMI issues, and I do prefer it over my BTR15 which these days I only use when the BTR17 runs out of batteryHi!. I also had the BTR15 for when my BTR7 battery ran out. When bought the BTR17 I retired the BTR15. Perhaps the reviewer did not experience these issues in their use case and testing, and thus did not mention any of these. I also would add that for my use case (Bluetooth LDAC, no EQ) the BTR7 has been flawless. If I were writing a review I would focus on that.I'm not saying this is a bad device overall, I bought it and will keep it at least until Qudelix will decide to release a new portable device.
Sound is excellent and the build quality is great.
That said this device has many problems, this thread is full of them, for instance many people are experiencing EMI noise - not me, but it should be mentioned in a review IMO.
But the software is clearly not achieved which negativity impact the device and make the impression it was botched and its launch was rushed.
My main concern is the inconsistency of the EQ depending of the input (BT or USB).
(See this post and the following : https://www.head-fi.org/threads/fii...7-is-officially-released.963808/post-18607553
I'm just surprised that the review omitted the whole EQ function and did not mention this issue which is extremely annoying and basically make the EQ a pain to use if you plan to switch between BT and USB input.
I've bought a Fiio BT11 to completely bypass the USB mode... (That said the BT11 is not the most polished device as well...)
The thing is too many reviews here or elsewhere are biased or sponsored and people often tend to take them as objective whilst they are too subjective or biased.
