@Daniel

That is a pretty big claim about the HFI-580. Figuring as though RPG and I have been in the hint for a successor to the XB500, I might take you up on your suggestion.

I'm still waiting to hear about the Audio Technica Pro700 and Pro500 models coming out. And let's not forget the XB1000

You must be poor i get like over £500/$800 usd a month in welfare.

I prefer the hfi 580 over the dt 770 pro 80 regarding soundstage maybe it is the s logic.

I'm a student :C

I spent most my money on books this month.. and was denied financial aid regardless of the fact that my parents don't support me.

..But anyways, didnt you just say earlier that the DT770's soundstage was better?:

It does sound a bit more airy compared to these hfi 580..but bass around the 20-30hz it doesn't have the slam and rumble that the hfi 580 has like what a sub woofer has.

I am no expert on soundstage but yea it is slightly bigger than the hfi 580's.

I suggest you buy the hfi 580 it is a favorite compared to the xb 500 and if that rpg guy buys the hfi he will find out about the low end rumble that sub woofers have..but these headphones don't go as low as subwoofers though and i'm not an expert as bass but these headphones give me goose bumps.

When i have more cash i'll try the pro900.

Just tried the dt770 pro 80 compared to my hfi 580...the hfi 580 has the low end rumble more than the dt 770 pro 80 and the dt 770 pro 80 compared to these well the hfi 580 sounds more detailed.

I think fare will have a hard time finding something else over these hfi 580.

If you get the dt 770 you will be disappointed over how hard it is to amp even with my amps, the ath m50 does not have the low end slam and rumble that the hfi 580 has as well..it goes very well with songs like rap and rnb and rock.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UePtoxDhJSw This song sounds great with the hfi 580.

I haven't heard from the xb 500..but my claim well if you look at the frequency graph you can see why compared to the dt770.

Well if you hear the hfi 580 and dt 770 you will know why plus it depends on the amp...with the bcl it is more clearer yet less of rumbling bass which makes the cans shake on your head with the low end rumble which suits songs like rap and r n b.

The dt770 pro 80 i have well bass can sound the same to be honest regarding how loud it is but it doesn't have the very low end sound coming from them so much as the hfi 580..but apart from that the dt 770 has omph as well but it's bass sounds different but regarding my amp and power it can't match the ultrasone in the 20hz region.

Apart from that bass from dt 770 and hfi 580 is very near regarding how loud it is and the slam and punch..but i am no bass expert but the dt770 sound higher up the bass chain.
