You can just email in and ask for the upgrade option. I emailed Andy, and he gave me information regarding how to get it upgraded right now.

I don't have an IEM to replace it though. Not yet at least. I should have one next month. I'll go from there.

I'm thinking of upgrading my ASG1.2 to ASG2 under the upgrade programme (more than likely the stealth ones)

Can anybody provide any information regarding the count difference between the ASG1.2 and ASG2? Just wondering what the improvements are and whether its with the extra $400 outlay??

Improved treble, more controlled bass, slightly improved overall midrange.

Not for the Stealth model....listed price on upgrade is $400 I believe the standard frosted finish is $300

Difference sounds good though and pretty much what I was hoping for :)

I found this little snippet of someone comparing the AS-2 to the likes of the SE 5-Way. It's in Chinese though, and google translate hurts my brain. Would anyone care to do a quick translation?

SE 5-way Reference:

From my impressions up until now, the AS-2 inherits many of ASG-1's traits.

My first impression is that there is a strong sense of envelopment and a soundstage that seems to surround me. Compared to ASG-1 v1.1's soundstage which has been love-hate for most people, the AS-2 doesn't seem to have the same live stage feel to the soundstage. It's the first time I'm reminded of SM3, but with a greater sense of three dimensionality.

Secondly, the AS-2 sounds distinctively like a dynamic IEM, with it's apparent strong bass response. It reminds me of the ASG-1 v1.2 with its warmth without covering the mids.

The vocals and bass are pretty balanced and neither overpower the other - thick yet detailed, opposite in voicing from the DBA-02 and the F111. Compared to the ESW11LTD next to me, the AS-2's soundstage makes me feel like I'm there listening to the performance.

The highs of the AS-2 are the biggest difference between it and the ASG-1, and it makes me think that this is the benefits of having a hybrid design. I wouldn't consider the AS-2 to be bright like the Frogbeats C5 or Flat-4 SUI. But hearing the crispness of the highs in a  warm sounding IEM is definitely a plus for me.

In the IEMs that I have heard, AS-2 would be categorized into the group with strong bass. As such, it won't be accepted by all users. The SE 5-Way Reference, which also has a warm sound with strong mids/bass, doesn't have bass that is as aggressive as AS-2's. As such, the highs of the AS-2 are also more apparent than the 5-Way.

then he lists a one line summary of a couple of his custom IEMs.

He basically heard the ASG-2 as I heard them for the short minutes I had with them when I auditioned.  I feel they are an ASG-1 (1.3 revision) with more treble and upper midrange.

I owned ASG-1 rev1.1 (maybe rev1.0) & rev1.2. ASG-1 was sent to Aurisonics a few weeks ago to upgrade to ASG-2. The impression I wrote is based on my AS-2.

It's accurate.  I had the ASG-1 Rev 0 or 1 (don't know which), upped it to 1.2, and now have the 1.3.  I only auditioned the ASG-2 shortly when I saw Dale.
