Actually I never had problems with 2pins.. excessive cable rolling might be a problem though. On the other hand why would one change the cable too often..

Yesterday the Rolands were in Hong Kong, today they are in my hands in NJ.
That was fast.
Sound great out of the box.

Please compare Roland to these "Noble Khan, CA Solaris, 64Audio U12t, Hyla CE-5, RHA CL2M, others"

Any Hiby R5 synergy pair here? That price looks tempting and ive tried M11 and didnt like it. Both are price almost the same, R5 is $100 cheaper.

Ha!
I was listening to the U12t's before the Roland's came in. Out of the box, the Roland's don't have the same detail level of the U12t (kind of expected), but still have great resolution and clarity.
Bass on Roland's is lighter than U12t's as well.
Treble is really nice on the Rolands, not as detailed, but just as good in their own way as the U12t's. It's smooth and clear, no harshness what so ever, on both units really.
Mid's - they go head to head.
Of course, this can all change with cable rolling and burning in the earphone.
They really are two different beasts, but the U12t's are over 2 times the price!
Edit- out of the iBasso220/amp9 -default cable/tips on the Rolands.

Thanks for the a12t heads up since the details on a12t is my benchmark after er2se details. Er2se seems more detail than a12t with some downsides less bass, less soundstage, deep insertions, etc.Ha!

Damn, was really hoping they could keep up - dynamic driver being beat for bass and estats on detail kinda defeats the purpose of both...Ha!

Remember, first impressions. Lets give it some time.
You have to give the U12t's the benefit anyway, they are twice as expensive, and put out by a quality company.
are there any comparisons yet between the roland and the valkyrie?

Whirlwinds are best tips I've found so far. Seal is so essential for bass on Fearless IEMs in particular, kind of strange, but worth finding a good match. I like these well enough I may sell them and get them in customs...

Yeah, the Roland vs the Valkyrie is the comparison I'm interested in. EE has a really musical sound and their DD bass is really deep if a bit overwhelming at times (Bravado) but apparently the Valkyrie has that more under control.
Very interesting to hear that the U12t seems better. That's another on my wish list to try sometime.

I'll be interested to hear your impressions after swapping cables. For some reason the S8 Pro and Roland have seemed particularly cable sensitive. I suspect its their exceptionally low input impedance. The difference in subbass slam between the stock Fearless cable and a Cu.Craftsman 6N OCC copper is immediately felt as well as heard.Remember, first impressions. Lets give it some time.

Anyway, putting it remotely close to the U12t at $1000 is a complete win in my book.
