fake Monster Turbine's
May 7, 2010 at 5:00 PM Post #16 of 54
I got scammed some time ago with some Monster Beats Tour, and as daydesiang says they are a real good copy, with a very good build quality, the pouch looks really cool and all that, so be aware.

At least it wasn't a total lost, I'm using the pouch for carrying my RE0s :p

Well the tours are copied, the gaga's are copied I don't see why the turbines can't be copied.

BTW stay away from dealextreme.

Well I will eat my words, there seem to be indeed fakes out there.

Actually for my Turbine I can't justify whether it's fake or not... too good to be true but sounds very similar to what been described...

I have seen many package variations from Monster but I cannot find a single article about the Fake vs. Authentic? If there are Fake Turbines out, the Pro line is not far behind being counterfeited...

I haven't heard of any, it probably isn't as profitable as making fakes of a plastic IEM. The main time to be worried about fakes is when you're buying Shure or Sennheiser from any site that isn't authorized, and even then it's mostly Sennheisers. Also watch for Audio-Technica fakes, there are millions of them out there too.

Shure fakes? I've never heard of Shure fakes except for the old E4 model and some of their microphones. However, it's worth mentioning that on Taobao (essentially the Chinese ebay) there are some ridiculously good prices.

Hi everyone,

Wanted to quickly weigh in with our thoughts on this issue:

  • There are fakes on the market for almost every Monster headphone. If it’s too good to be true, chances are it isn’t real!
  • Monster takes this very seriously and has a team working to stop fakes and the sale of them
  • We suggest people buy from an authorized dealer not only to insure their product is real but to get the full Monster warranty on the product

Thanks and if you have any questions, please feel free to PM!

There's one! there's also a post in the name and shame section.

The Dr Dre tours were picked up very quickly. This morning however I started to read some interesting comments on the Solo's on amazon. There seems to be a lot of them breaking. One could grumble that it just a Monster build quality problem, but then i remembered the B&O dealer who told me that he get 3-4 people bringing in their broken A8 earphones, all of them fake of course!

Hands up, i've been living in a cave for the last few years and I know nothing about LGG. The other thing is the price of these counterfeits.

Could it be a fake? http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B002EL4RIE/ref=dp_olp_used?ie=UTF8&qid=1274183473&sr=1-1&condition=used

They are used but seems to be very cheap even for used. Though one seller is fulfillment by amazon and has many positive feedbacks...

and this is probably 100% fake http://www.dhgate.com/wholesale/monster+turbine+pro+gold.html#search

I'll just say I bought my Turbines from Best Buy - the carry pouch had the red stitching and there's no "monster" logo plate on it (the pictures on the box show it having one)...so don't use that alone as an indication that the headphones are fake.
