Exceptional in Every Detail: Say Hello to the IE 600

the problem is, I put the inear in for a few hours, let's say 2-3 hours and something starts to bite my right ear, half an hour goes by, then this 2-3 second stabbing pain appears every 15 minutes. and I literally have to take it out of my ear because it makes me gag. yesterday my left ear started to burn. I use spinfit w1, it is made of medical rubber of good quality. so it's unlikely that I'm using poor quality, that's why it's irritating. It is the same with small and medium fitting, large does not fit. I simply can't stand it after a while... I have no idea what the solution is, if there is one at all. has it ever happened to you that any inear was so uncomfortable in your ears that you would have preferred to pull it out of its place? and did any of you have such a few seconds of penetrating pain? I have a tip, maybe my auditory bone or nerves are weak and this physical pain is caused by continuous hours of pressure. The only problem is that it does the same with the smallest and medium-sized joints. trifecta so I won't buy it if this problem doesn't go away.

Yah, inside my right ear starts itching quite badly that I have to remove the earbud and give my ear a little massage with my finger. Once the pain starts it doesn’t really go away. I think it’s because these sit really deep in my ear. I can put in another brand earphone immediately after I experience pain from the ie600s and the pain stops.

exactly what kind of eartips are you using for the ie600?

In my experience - itchy yes, pain (specially stabbing pain) none at all - even on long listening sessions.

I suggest you visit your EENT specialist 1st to have yourself checked, this forum may not be the best to get answers. OR, IEMs might not be for you - so better visit your EENT specialist immediately.

Can I buy a convertor to use balanced in to the phone jack?
Why not get a cable from XINHS (AliExpress) ? It is not expensive, however, you need to inform the seller you need the MMCX connector for IE 600.

Don't want to bore about dacs again but I've got a shop in a day trip city away and theres an ifi Go Blu there in cabinet. To insulate myself from being a fool into buying what might essentially be just more volume the main selling point of this machine is also Bluetooth conversion. There is also balanced connection, which will satiate the fidgeting of wanting to mess around with everything I paid for, and also the two buttons: bass boost and stereo expander thing have good reports... Is it too much to think it's going to actually improve sound?... Also if I get it , won't it be future proofing above fidget satiating when I buy T5 or ATH-WP900?.

Swapped for a standard cheap linsoul cable from Amazon (UK) but unfortunately the right MMCX disconnects too easily from the IEM. Left side is fine. Cable doesn't have this issue on other MMCX IEMs. Will try a cheap cable from ebay.
That’s because the IE600 don't use a regular MMCX cable/socket but a recessed one. It‘s been discussed many many times since their release. Many/most regular MMCX cables therefore don’t fit properly. However, there are also many now that do. Just make sure to buy a cable that does fit :)

I already know it is but the linsoul cable does fit the IE600 so it isn't because of that. If it didn't fit it wouldn't connect at all, like my other 2 MMCX cables didn't.
No, that’s not necessarily so. I had a cheap Tripowin/Linsoul „Zonie“ cable in gold. It did fit but it wasn‘t a stable fit at all. Then I had another blue Tripowin cable that was exactly like that. The only ones that have fitted so far were the new Tripowin „Solstice“ cable and the „Noire“ cable, specifically for Sennheiser MMCX.

Did you prefer the solstice or noire?
