Exceptional in Every Detail: Say Hello to the IE 600

Looking to upgrade from my original Dunu Zen. Would most of you agree the IE600 is a noticeable step up? Also considering the Sony IER-M9. Not ruling out the Zen Pro. If there are others I should consider in the $1,000 price range please chime in. I'm using a Romi BX2 plus class A amp by the way if that's relevant. Thanks
Since I posted this I've also noticed the Meze Advar. With the IE 600 on sale I have it narrowed down to these two. Any chance any of you have heard both? The Advar is $100 more but they're including the 4.4 balanced cable which I would need for the IE600 anyway. I'm within a day or so of purchasing one or the other so any advice would be greatly appreciated

IE600 comes with a 4.4 balanced cable too.

Unfortunately I have joined the intermittent audio dropout club. The problem only affects the right IEM, not the left. I will contact Senny this week.
The 600 quickly got in my daily rotation and I will be bitter to part with it for a while.

I wonder if they will let you know what the cause is :/

I'm on my 3rd pair now. Both earlier ones developed a significant volume mismatch and on my first pair, one side eventually quit altogether. I bought directly from Sennheiser and the warranty process has worked well so far. Of course, I worry that the new ones will fail as well. They have sent brand new sealed replacements each time. Interestingly, my older IE 300s are just fine after much use.

It seems replacing the cable has fixed the imbalance problems for all that have posted unless I missed some. Have there been any cases where replacing the cable DID NOT fix the problem? Sorry if it's been addressed somewhere in these 153 pages

I tried multiple cables as well as trying to swap the left & right channels. Nothing I tried fixed the problem

It was the intermittent cutting out that better fitting cables fixed.

My imbalance problem (on both previous sets) was absolutely not the cable. Multiple cables and swapping channels made it 100% clear that it was the IEM itself.

I have several pairs of Sennheisers so I'm not a hater, but all the reports of problems pushed me to buy the Meze Advar. When they threw in the free 4.4 balanced cable it sealed the deal. Experimenting with tips has them sounding real good to me. I'm sure I'll be buying other Sennheiser's in the future
