How big are the IE-600? I am looking for an IEM to sleep with. Can you lay your head with the ear on a pillow without IE-600 bothering you?

Thank you, really appreciated!
A little later I can get out the micrometer for you and get the finite dims (length, width, depth with/without nozzle)

Indeed they have nearly identical shell dimensions. More to come tonightBeing able to lay on a pillow and still retain the fit was one of the most amazing feature of the IE900.
So it should be a similar story with the IE-600![]()

Ok here we go. These measurements, btw, are nearly identical for IE 900 and IE 300. In fact, I am floored at how precise they are given the three very different mediums. It's astounding. How big are the IE-600? I am looking for an IEM to sleep with. Can you lay your head with the ear on a pillow without IE-600 bothering you?

Yes, but that’s probably for a reason. I suppose they chose a polymer for its ease of injection moulding, slight flexibility and precise dimensions. It makes for a great material to make such a „cap“, as it can be reopened relatively easily for repair and can be mass produced with little to no failed parts. It also adapts to little imperfections of the housing, where the laser sintered part would not fit that well to another sintered part. Doing that with amorphous zirconium would be significantly more difficult and pricey. From a marketing standpoint they also needed to differentiate the ie600 from the ie900 and make it a “little less luxurious”.Is the nozzle of the IE600 plastic?
Yes. The ZR would be plenty sturdy but would affect the sound with too much variance from unit to unit (the dimples). The black nozzle and it's "base" is a cap for the other internal components, too (back volume, resonators, etc). You can see it in the exploded view:Is the nozzle of the IE600 plastic?

Many thanks and much appreciated, it helps a lot!Ok here we go. These measurements, btw, are nearly identical for IE 900 and IE 300. In fact, I am floored at how precise they are given the three very different mediums. It's astounding.
Now keep in mind that because it is an asymmetrical, oblong shape, there are countless ways to measure it. I chose to use the outermost measurements while sticking to a traditional "shoebox" profile of Length, Depth, and Height. For good measure I also captured the girth of the elbow that reduces into the exit nozzle. I would imagine this to be important as it pertains to resting on it.
FWIW, I have littler ears and found these to be a joy on a 6-hour flight. I only took them out to request the thimble of ginger ale.
First, the overall length (mm):
Now, overall depth:
...and height:
And finally the newly-coined "exit-plane-elbow-girth" (someone please come up with a better name haha):
I hope that helps!
