Counterfeits of the IE600 and IE900 exist?
I would say yes. No way these are real:

Edit:
On second thought, links removed so there is no confusion. Just search Aliexpress...

The ones in your picture are fake?Yep, makes buying used or from eBay a real risk, unfortunately. To be clear, these are counterfeit.

Stay updated on Sennheiser at their sponsor profile on Head-Fi.

If buying new, always buy from an authorized Sennheiser retailer
...and obviously if buying used make sure it's a trusted source (ideally they can verify their own purchase).
There is plenty of fake ie300 ie600 and ie900s on aliexpress. This is ie300 comparison.
The biggest give away is the fake ones case opens from right to left instead of left to right.
Also no serial number on box.
Yeah this is definitely a discovery. I never thought they'd be counterfeiting certificates as well. Gonna study the receipt the seller sends.
I'd really appreciate if folks compared this against their authenticity cert. Here's what the seller sent to me. I'm almost certain those are fake now, given the fact that the signature is the same as @rlw6534 posted.

Yeah, they resigned from this system as it was way too easy to bypass. Thank you for taking a look at your cert for me.I don't think that's going to help. My genuine IE 600's (direct from Sennheiser) have the exact same certificate (different date - mine are dated in April) and have the same initials (ACO).
Better? Depends what you define as better? They will be different for sure soundwise. But in the technical front I think they are more or less equal.Guys, making the jump up from the JVC HA-FDX1 and looking at which IEMs to go for. Would the Sennheiser IE600 be significantly better?
