I'm waiting for a pair of ER4S at the moment! I have some UM2's but i intend to get a DAC/amp later on this year and apparently the ER4's sound amazing when amped.. im not prepared to spend the big bucks on some 11's!

If they've been using the same design for over 10 years then these things must have something special about them.

ER6i black - I'm waiting to try my recently bought Etys with the shure olives...the sound with stock sleeves is just too much biased towards the upper end of the spectrum

Yeah. Frankly, they sound like crap with stock sleeves. I would not recommend them to someone unless with the Olives.

With the olives, they actually sound REALLY REALLY REALLY good. REALLY good. REALLY.

Olives are great, great when I had ER6is.

And fantastic with me new ER4Ps!

Annoying thing with ER4's and Olives (or any tip for that matter), is whenver I move, open my mouth, the sound changes!

:O

I haven't tried complys... But I have tried the foamies and while sounding WAY better than the tri flanges, they're no match for the olives IMO. Comfort wise, The olives are on top too, but mine are sized too small so the edge goes further in and kinda 'scratches' my ears.

I just received my pair of ER4S' and wow... just wow... I thought that it may take me some time to adjust coming from UM2's but seriously, i love these things! The detail and clarity is just outstanding, there is no fuzziness or veil whatsoever, it all sounds so clear. I even thought that maybe they won't be great with rock, as i listen to a lot of metal, but these are great with it! The guitars sound really clear, and i like the fact they don't have extended bass as the bass drums really sound like a "thud", which i like. I'll definatly be sticking with these until something better comes along... which i can't see happening. I'm waiting for an amp at the moment which apparently completes these things so i can't wait to try it out. Do even the top end customs beat these things in clarity?

Got mine recabled to improve microphonics, such a let down microphonics are worse! I love my er4p's but now I'm seriously considering getting shot of them and getting customs!
