Both very good with LX, but I’d probably choose 3Max between the two. 3Max has unreal technicalities and bass, so LX really shines on it N6ii R01 has a brighter, airier tonality that matches super well with LX too, but the technical performance isn’t anywhere near the same level as 3Max.
Keep in mind though, 3Max is a huge brick of a dap, and supply is limited. Pretty much sold out everywhere I believe? N6ii + an R01 board is easily obtained.
Does anyone know which DAP EE uses to tune their IEMs? I was under the impression that they use AK DAPs but I am not so sure. Trying to understand which dap will synergize best with EVO.

Unfortunately there's no plans for EVO CIEM at this time. Given the supply chain issues and the manufacturing difficulty of EVO we'll have our hands and resources tied with UIEM production until 2022.

We have a variety of sources in house but Dean cycles through the following 4 during tuning:
Hugo 2
SP2000
Lotoo Paw Gold Touch
Sony WM1Z
I'd say out of that list the first 2 are his most frequently used while the other 2 are just there to understand synergy. FWIW the EVO is definitely easier to drive than ODIN since it doesn't utilize estats.
This, while i did not have any fit issues with Odin, bigger housing might require some more secure fit. I have Mest MK2 in my ears as i type. And its long nozzle really limits tip choice as i end up having to go with shallow ones. Also need to readjust fit time to time, which never happened with LX.
So im with you on shorter nozzle.
But i trust EE. They are one of best fitting iems i have tried anyway, regardless of model.
