To add to the excellent comments already posted, in the depressingly brief time I owned the Odin (I suddenly needed cash, urgently!), what I found is that - in common with many IEMs - my ears and brain needed a period of time to adjust to the sound signature of the Odin.
And the more of a difference in sound signature between the Odin and whatever IEM I'd been listening to previously, the more jarring the transition would initially be.
If I went from something like EE Phantom or CA Solaris 2020 to the Odin, the Odin would certainly sound rather thin and shrill, but only for as long as it took me to get used to it. After that period came The Good Stuff
I personally felt that there was definitely that 'forward upper-mids' aspect to the sound signature which I was not accustomed to from any of my existing IEMs and that was always there, even after burn-in. I couldn't escape it.
That then, becomes a matter of personal preference.
For me, I think I didn't have enough time with the Odin to get used to that sound signature, but I suspect that I would have gotten used to it with more listening time.
That caveat aside, for me the Odin is still the pinnacle of any IEM I've heard thus far in terms of detail retrieval and technicalities generally.
It also combines clinical, analytical precision with an astonishing musicality, which was quite a surprise.
I never owned the Zeus, but heard it at a CanJam when it was first released and was entranced. I only have distant memories of it now, but from what I can recall (and more recent impressions I've read) unless you truly don't want a low end that's anything less than pure neutral, or even the slightest tinge of musicality, then I'd have to say that the Odin would at least warrant a listen, and I wouldn't be surprised if any Zeus lover (not you
@proedros obviously, just generally speaking, haha) fell in love with the Odin too
Another surprise was that I was nervous about the bass (being a bit of a bass-head and all), but the low end of the Odin managed to astonish me again.
Like a cunning vampire, that bass comes in only when invited, but my goodness they can hit hard (possibly like the aforementioned vampire lol).
I think I definitely have a place in my heart for IEM's where the low end has more sub-bass focus than mid-bass (still love the LX though) and I really quite liked that about the Odin in retrospect, since the majority of my IEMs are the opposite.
Ultimately, unless EE release an IEM that I hear and like even better, all I can say is that I'm going to buy another Odin sooner or later, no doubt
