Empire Ears - Discussion & Impressions (Formerly EarWerkz)

From your description I didn't notice much of a difference from LX except for 5khz peak that could even be a downgrade for some.
Well, when I say 5kHz peak, I don’t mean a sharp peak that comes out of nowhere. I more so mean that 5kHz is where EE have chosen to place a small treble peak. Otherwise, the IEM would have no articulation at all.

If you look at this measurement of the LX (granted, SE, but they’re identical in the treble):

You’ll also see a 5kHz peak, followed by a dip, then presence again between 8-10kHz. So, it’s not far off from what I described the Triton as having. If anything, the Triton at the moment might be even smoother in the treble, but further extended, hence its blacker background and stronger dynamics.

Hmm, audibly when doing sweep sound test, the peak is closer to 4k and the dip is right at 5, but whatever, too many variables.
Triton seems like a good competitor under 2K, but I feel it is still too much of a small refresh in todays market. Some cool new or Raven-like shell design might be a good feature for this iem.

If it's within a hundred Hz it's usually phase shift in the rig from insertion depth. See if whichever measurements you're referencing are also slid to the left.

PS: You still have a Nemesis! I gave those to my roommate!

Yeah, who knows with insertion depths and what-not. The point is that it’s not a sudden peak, but simply one EE chose for its articulation. And, that’s to my ears as well. I could be mistaken, given the brevity and setting of the demo. What I’m sure of is that it’s a very smooth, thick in-ear in its current state, so don’t worry about the treble being too aggressive in any way.

I think its bass quality and overall presentation are unique factors in today’s market around that price range. If it comes in custom form, that’s another USP too. ‘Not too many basshead customs around these days, AFAIK. Given EE’s history with unique faceplates, I’m excited to see what they have in store with the Triton. I’m also confident that they’ve learned from the Raven to not be too ambitious either. 😄

Hi guys. Sad morning.
One od Odyssey’s earphone fell from a chair (40 cm) onto the tile - and the shell broke into pieces..

Any ideas what can be done? As far as I understand, CIEM cannot be done because of Weapon X..
Despair 😔

Send the pics and description of damage to EE support. They'll get back to you about if they can repair and what it'll take and might cost. Although they'll probably have to look at it in the shop to know for sure and an exact cost to repair. EE has great support and repair service.

The main thing is that EE does not say that this is a product of AK, not EE.
I definitely won’t get anything from AK)

As long as it's not warranty service, I'm pretty sure EE will repair an Odyssey directly through their own support and repair service.

Since Odyssey is an Astell&Kern product and not an EE product, you will need to reach out to us to arrange repair.

I heard this story.
But let's be honest, this is a product of EE development, the full production cycle of EE, manual assembly of EE. From AK there is only an inscription on the body.

Or maybe I’m wrong and you have your own facilities to repair post-warranty devices?

Either way you have an A&K rep replying to you directly so maybe see how that goes first...

They would end up being repaired by EE for a shell repair. But since EE is not selling them and AK is, repair needs to be arranged directly with AK. If you reach out to EE, they will also ask you to reach out to AK to arrange support.

You are welcome to reach out to me via PM for more info if you'd like.
