Empire Ears - Discussion & Impressions (Formerly EarWerkz)

It would be more prudent for people to hear specific IEMs before judging or comparing them. Both have great bass quality and are pretty neutrally tuned in the bass meaning not elevated. Ragnar has the far better treble and is very treble dominant. Treble tuning gives it a huge stage. It is also the most resolving and clearest sounding IEM I own. It makes everything else sound veiled in comparison including Jewel and Traillii. Odin is upper mids dominant with good treble air, but thin treble in general. Odin's strength is its bass. Ragnar's strength is its treble. Gloriously detailed, thick and revealing treble. Odin has better timbre, but can sound incoherent. Ragnar has great coherency.

To me, Odyssey is a better Odin because it is tuned to highlight its glorious bass by elevating it to where it belongs and balances out the rest of the curve to make its tuning very pleasant. Ragnar is something completely different.
I fully agree with your recap of Viking Ragnar!

So when is Odyssey expected to ship out? I know it’s November, but is it closer to the beginning of the month or thanksgiving?

November 14th?

So is the Odyssey being released worldwide earlier than the A+K website indicates? Or it's different depending on location/region?
Varies by region. Most regions will release it around the 2nd week of November. Some regions, such as us in North America, set a date where all authorized dealers can release it, even if they get their stock a few days early so that all customers have the chance to get them the same day. Other regions/distributors allow their dealers to release them as soon as they get their stock, even if other dealers in the region will not get theirs for a few days longer. The screenshot of the November 14th release date was from the AK North America website and only applies to US/Canada release.

What to choose, please?

EE Legend X or Vision Ears EXT?

Quite different but to me, the EXT is quite a bit better at what it sets out to do
I prefer full organic sound and would like to make a change from Noble Audio Encore.

I would say that the LX has the more traditionally “fuller” sound that is smooth and more bass centred but the EXT is more textured throughout, with a much more tangible feeling to the whole and the treble completely blows the LX’s away.
