As I found that the LX pairs really well with the Stormbreaker / 1960’s 2w, I have been thinking about whether to sell my 1950’s and get the 60’s 2w.

I like the 50’s, but the LX/SB pairing was sublime!

Odin subbass extension/speed with a touch more warmth and fun-factor impact in midbass + LX lush mids boosted with refined technicality/clarity + LX’s darker treble but again boosted with refined technicality and clarity.

Even larger staging (width especially, depth for sure and maybe some height for fun) is key to pull off the LX Mk2’s darker, thicker sound.

Basically a warmer/darker Traillii (bass through lower mids with treble sparkle contrasting darker sig) with controlled DD

This gave me goosebumps! Yes and more yes!

I wouldn't change a *&%*$#@ thing mate!

But ok, for the purpose of the exercise:

1. Tweak stage size/depth upward without impacting tonality (and to be clear, it's already plenty big)
2. Tweak midrange clarity without impacting tonality (and to be clear, it's already plenty clear)
3. Try out dual XI+ drivers without impacting tonality (and if they impact tonality, toss them)
4. Try out e-stats in place of treble BAs without impacting tonality (maybe a hair more extension with added smoothness but not more quantity)
5. KEEP THE SAME SHELL SIZE (don't give me no Odin-sized LX II)
6. Recessed 2-pin sockets could be visually appealing but don't touch the all-black gold-winged finish.

All things I can support and agree that the LX excels as configured.

Don't forget the most important bit:

7. Keep the price the same... or very reasonable, at least.

I personally preferred the 1950s over the 1960s with the LX, unless you want to push the LX even warmer.

I think the 2w might have added a slight touch of warmth to the mix, and while I felt it still gave a similar amount of detail and clarity as per the 1950’s, I felt It was overall more musical and a little less clinical. Sadly I no longer have the SB but the enjoyment factor of it paired with LX has never left.

Honestly wouldn't change anything about the LX. I just love the tuning that much. Love having Odin/LX together in my Arsenal.

So, I thought about it the other day… I figured the LX is probably my favorite IEM. It’s not technically better than say Traillii but it’s damn good and more fun so to speak. That being said, I wondered what I would change about the LX if I could to either retune it or bump the specs.. curious what others think as well. What would be your ideal LX MKII if there was ever one?

Funny. I was thinking this same thought the other day. I'd be interested to see how it would fair with est treble. I wouldnt mind deeper (if possible) bass. Maybe the upgraded weapon xi driver. Other than that, it really is an amazing IEM. Im still debating what to do with the SE/OG LX camp. Maybe keep both? Wouldnt listen to the other, though.

Makes you wonder why they didn't release the new (and final) limited batch with this finish. SO much nicer than the silver. I'd even consider it over the all-black.
