I wanted to do the same, but I was worried I would apply too much torque to the pins/connectors and would end up damaging the pins and/or ravening the IEMs themselves

Really the con X system is very good. And it became for me, personally, a game changer. Sort of.

Not a concern at all and far more reliable than the 2 pins and mmcx connectors themselves, the ones in the iems shells
There is no need at all to tighten hard. When you screw in the female connector. Really a very reliable and clever system

If you have find "THE ONE" cable, this is it. Therefore it is a specific situation.

Received a Fusion 1 cable from a friend for listening. I expected it to be a bit thicker.

Okay. First impressions.
Good ergonomics. The cable is quite obedient. It is not a rope that lays the way you put it, but still the cable does not cause problems with twisting, etc. Connectors - both conX and TermX are convenient. In addition, they are made in the style of a cable, they do not look alien.
Regarding the sound. Good punchy and elastic bass. The sound preserves its integrity and does not emphasize the analytical component. The first pairing is with CA Supermoon and he adds some warmth and emotion to them that goes a good way. The stage is not very wide, but this does not cause problems.

I better start burning this in and give it a listen. I’m not sure what to expect yet. But I liked the Ares S and the Cadmus, so time to see how well they work together.

I better start burning this in and give it a listen. I’m not sure what to expect yet. But I liked the Ares S and the Cadmus, so time to see how well they work together.

The frankencable looks nice! How does it feel compared to their other 8w cables? And how long did it take for them to upgrade your cables once they received your 4w? Mine's still enroute to them so just curious.

For me, putting it on to burn is part of the fun. It’s a bit like being part of a ceremony!

This is a demo cable that I have with me and not a commercial piece. This is also going to be a limited edition for Christmas only. There’s going to be 200 units produced. If you were going to have your cables adjusted anyway then it’s best to contact EA direct just to check on the situation.

Right now the cable is a bit stiff, but I’ve literally just taken it out of the package and so I expect it to warm up a bit when I start using it.

Edit: now that I’ve started to use it the cable actually drapes quite well. Not stiff at all.

You'd think its ergonomics would be right about the middle between Ares and Cadmus
