Okay, I know that most of those who received this cable have already sold it or left it in the depths of their cable closet, but thanks to a friend, I got the chance to evaluate it.

Not at all, I'm still loving my Eros S cable paired with the Tia Fourte.

Can anyone take a photo of the code 23 around the ear please? Would like to see what people mean when they complain of the thickness

@EffectAudio are there any ways to fix this uneven braiding? The braiding on mine, generally, is very loose and quite prone to kinking. At first i didnt mind but the longer i have it. Its getting more and more kinked.

I’m close to 100 hours of burn in and the Code 23 has really opened up. I’ve been using an old iPhone max and AK Billie Jean for this, and even with this setup I’m quite amazed at how big this cable makes the sound feel. I’m going to pair it next with the Legend X and SP3000. The Code 23 has good fusion with this Dap and compliments the dark background. I find the LX to be quite a warm IEM in general and the bass can sometimes feel a tad thick on certain tracks. What I like about the Code 23 is that it feels like it is opening everything out and giving more room for every element of a song to breathe.

I have an impression that you will like LX + C23 + SP3000. It worked quite well for me even without the burn in. it brings the LX to a more balanced field, without losing the magic DD low end. Full of details and technicalities in the upper range.

X is still a Legend. :P

Finding it challenging to cable roll the Code 23, LOL, with 200+ hours in and excellent synergy with FiR Xe6 – pairings with all of my DAP are oh so good.

Burning in my latest DAP, Cayin N7 with Xe6 and Code 23. While the soundstage of the Xe6 + Code 23 is amazing with RS8, N7 expands it further with textural and impactful base. Looking forward to pairing the Code 23 with FiR's latest Radon 6 (Rn6) when they ship out this Friday.

Is that the 'Dystopian Black' color option on Code 23? I really like the color in your pictures, it looks much more silvery in a lot of the promotional shots which I don't like as much...

It is "Dystopian Black". The hardware has a warmish gunmetal coloration that shifts with the light and pairs quite nicely with the blackish-brown insulation.

You person! (joking! :P)

After the last couple posts and your reminder to get Code 23 on LX again, I did it today and decided to do a Scubi and hold on to my LX.

This pairing is amazing. "David Bowe - Space Oddity" first 1:15 sounds so open/spacious while the music is ramping up. The separation of guitar on one side, drums on the other, bass on a step back but with palpable details. while all that is happening you still have David's voices on each side. the details are present in each layer of the song and never overcoming the low end or being spicy in the upper end.

Code 23 is not the most ergonomic cable, but when it finds its pairing it does in a beautiful way. In this case it made me almost emotional about the enjoyment it brought that made me relax and fly away with the music. (honestly rare feeling these days)

I know, the pairing with LX just works. When I still had the prototype Code 23 I kept the LX connected to it for some time.

I’m going to check out that David Bowie Space Oddity track to see how it sounds with this combo.

What a pairing… 🤤

Smooth clarity and details… warming like a blanket lows…

Sorry Ares S, you lost your home.

Well,

Code 23 is not that thick as a cable in general, at least after the split to your ears. The misconception is more because it is is a Single thick cable. But is definitely thinner than some (most) 8W around. It's weight is also comparable with some high end 8W cables around.

What makes Code 23 stiff is its design with a single core, which is stiff and moldable to your liking. Consequently not flexible to move around, so any movement on the bottom of the cable will be felt at the ears. So around the ears, C23 can take any form you want, really.
