EarSonics' two flagships: the universal S-EM9, and new custom EM10.

I very much doubt Earsonics is able to develop/produce drivers in-house. "Proprietary"  probably just means they are tweacked TWFK/Sonion drivers made to meet specific specs. But any CIEM manufacturer able to order quantities large enough is able to do that already.
As far as I know, Sony is the only company which had the know-how and enough cash to produce their own BA.

You can add FAD as they have custom BA for the Final Heaven's for example if I am not mistaken. But it's a valid point, it's very costly to build in house so it's probable you're right about this.

They are only officially for sale from 25 October, but the first batch has gone to the distributors. I think they will only be available from 25 November (from EarSonics), maybe other parties will sell them earlier.

But I agree would love to hear impressions

Looks like they moved up the date on the website from nov 25th to oct 25th, hope no compromise on QA is done... Indeed first impressions will be interesting high expectations after the Velvet !

Less bass or more bass than the Velvet?

Twice the price of the Velvet for sure...
Come on,most of the time more is less. People who spend more tend to fear bass. The 12 drivers do not have more bass.

I would very much like this to be a mids monster. Lush guitars, pianos, vocals... yeh.
