Oh my, sorry for derailing the thread a bit but I just spent an hour with the AK T8ie and it's really what I was looking for same "wow" as the IE800 but with a silky smooth yet detailed signature and very fast for a dynamic... very hard to put down...dynamic drivers have potential despite their being rare among TOTL, beyerdynamic has nailed it for me!
Dude I had those and well I dont have them anymore. You like them then you should look into the Rhapsodio Galaxy similar sound signature but with more MORE! Olus a better housing that isolates better without shoving the earpiece into your eat and better connection. Also comes with the best upgrade cable.

I am doubtful I'll look at anything new for a long while contrary to the past 2 years, which of the Rhapsodio you have in mind, Solar? I have read that the RD series are more detail monsters rather than smooth and silky...

Sonys to me were analytical to the point i would call them artificial sounding tho this is from memory. Beyers were pretty neutral sounding from the short audition i did.

Guess it depends on treble preference? I don't find them artificial sounding.... then again I also have Dunu 2000J and ATH-m70x which make the Sony's sound almost veiled by comparison
I had the same problem with my right monitor, the sound was in and out. All I did was I moved the central little wire in the cable connector by the needle and the problem was gone.
