The other day I did a FULL format to FAT32 using ridgecrop and followed the tips from lurker on post 9032 http://www.head-fi.org/t/697035/dx90-2x-sabre-1st-page-downloads-info-inst-lurker0-fw-mod-link-1st-page-new-fw-2-3-0/9030#post_11037042
It seemed to work great on the stock ibasso 2.1.5 but not on his new 2.5.1L2 so I bought a Lexar 633x 128gb to see if a different card would agree better with the new firmware

Ridgecrop is what I used for FAT32 for my Samsung 128G.  You should be fine.

I tried 2.5.1 L2 from 2.5.1 L0 on my DX90MM1.
I have to admit that bass and lower midrange is slightly better on details and presence.
But now female vocals are less clear and have less extension. The soundstage seems not to be as airy.

But the main problem for me is when I listened on midgain on 2.5.1 L0 volume 200 for example,
on 2.5.1 L2 I have to set it on high gain and same volume 200 to have approximatively the sound I like...

Weird, I didn't expect that difference, I'll stick with 2.5.1 L0 for the moment, althrough I find the bass better on 2.5.1 L2, but not enough for me to change.
No problem for me, I can live with this.

 It's personal preference.

I will be shocked if you tell me you like the sound of 2.5.1 L2. Better bass?? Whaat? Boomy and LESS detailed than L0, just dominant volume-wise (presence yes). Perhaps missing some very low frequencies too. You are right about the highs though, they are "butchered". I also get a very 2d feeling out of soundstage, everything so pale and unexciting. (2.1.5 L4 had similar bass and mids but sounded fantastic!)
If only 2.1.5 L4 worked with the batch tool ...

I prefer L0, I also have a modded DX90, it may sound different from stock dap.
I guess L2 would pair well with headphones that have already very wide soundstage and not much bass, so that the dap can bring the balance to it. But it's not my taste.
You may be right for the bass presence, narrower soundstage and unexciting sound.
For me, L0 is near perfect sound to pair with my headphones, so no reason to change.

Ok that's it I'm switching back to 2.1.5 L4 !!!

This 2.5.1 L2 is so boring sounding and way to soft for my taste, it has like no dynamics to it at all. I didn't really care until I tried my mdr-7550

It sounds like a hifiman that got the joy sucked out of it
It's to bad because the firmware actually works really well. Damn it all
