its an audio cable with a small square in the end...

There is a well regarded opinion that electronics like the DX90 sound better after 'breaking-in'. The dummy load cable lets you run it without having to hook it up to your headphones and/or listen to it, like at night or anytime you are not listening to it.
 
It connects to the headphone jack just like your headphones would.

Theoretically 2TB but the largest card you can buy atm is 128GB

Go for 128gb if you want - that's the largest available at the moment.  Sandisk version works fine for me.

Personnaly, I use multiple 64GB cards (the cheaper sandisk one), dx90 handle very well switching while running. No auto scan, so I browse by folders, 'works like a charm : even more space avaible with a better ratio GB/$
