I would assume the sound only gets better with each update. Is this not accurate? I know sound is subjective, but that doesn't sound like a game I'd want to play - download each update to determine which sound I like best. Besides, should I prefer the sound of of say the 3rd update, wouldn't that mean I'm stuck with only the firmware updates to that point? If I download the latest firmware along with the 3rd update, can I choose the sound of that 3rd update, and still get the options from the latest firmware?

The latest update is good, but sound signature wise, many prefer 2.2.0

As I said, all options are the same and independent of the firmware. I like the sound of last firmware so I use it. You can begin with this one and if you like it, keep it. I cannot decide for you

Sound- and powerwise the Supermini is a great choice, but don't forget, gapless doesn't work with the Supermini and does work with the DX90. Depending on the kind of music you'll use, this can be an issue.

Am just curious if there were any regional restrictions because iBasso stuck a "J" behind DX90 and not for DX80 and the just launched (in Japan) DX150.

1. Did the USB DAC lag ever get fixed? Can I watch videos without delay?

2. Rockbox still working fine?

3. Is battery life really THAT bad? Can I at least get like 6 hours on a charge or so?

1. there is a lag (1.8 seconds actually for me). But it is not always the same and I think it’s relative to Microsoft updates and your configuration (Win 10 64 bits). Few monthes ago the lag was nearly null and it came back again and I did not find why.
2. I suppose – I don’t use it
3. the battery is short life (5 to 7 hours for me) but you can change it, so it’s not a problem for me.

The lag is delayed..I’ve been using roxkbox forvee without too many problems...I have an extended battery I put the silicone case over it to hold it in place..can get around 14-16 hrs with it
