But I feel a bit alone now that what I'm hearing is specific to my modded DX90

No, you are not alone! ZverMetel complains about too much of bass with 250 Ohm Beyerdynamic and reverted to 2.1.5L2, and I feel just fine with 2.1.8L0 :)

I have to leave it to my imagination as to what people are hearing on stock DX90, but from memory of stock DX90 I will say the Mod sounds radically different, it is no slight change.

With DT (as I see in your description) the your sound is still nice? It's too hardly for me.

Yes, exactly. Ive mastered a fair amount of music in my time  and if I didn't know better i would say someone has been adding some effects to the sound to make it more appealing to the masses!

Same for me, too.
The transients are shaped in a way like my outboard SPL Transient Designer did and listening with my analytical AKG K812 & K712 Pro the sound is not real fun. It sounds way to much analytical.
Using the DX90 with my SPL Phonitor at the studio gives me the same experience.
I swapped a tube head preamp into the chain and the sound comes back a little bit like the 2.1 Stock FW.

So for analytical headphones the DX90 is not more a pleasure mix.

Lurker, I tried listening to different battery with modded DX90, I still hear a difference, I possibly think difference might be less than before mod but can only guess, all I can truly say is I still hear a difference with quality battery.

I also tried different SD card, I still hear difference, again it is hard to say how it compares to stock, I think difference could be less than with stock, all I definitely say is I still hear a difference.

I use DT770LE limited edition 32 ohm (and has leather ear pads), it has less bass than 250 ohm DT770, for me 2.1.8L is great with DT770LE.

One more question: how DX90MM is compared with your new toy - QA360? I mean, soundwise, because the usability of QA360 is awful :)

Currently I enjoy DX90 Phone Out more than QA360 Phone Out. I feel that the QA360 is excellent bit of hardware, that needs firmware optimizing for higher potential, but the QA360 has higher SQ from LO and Digital out than DX90.

Publication of high quality pictures of the modded board is prohibited :)

sorry, i meant the ibasso casing. Also what spec ps is being used? sorry again if those aren't allowed to be answered either.

The mod is done 100% internaly, on the board. All the rest, including the casing, remains the same.
