With the hd600, I would recommend the O2 over the C5 with or C5D. I have both and the HD600's. There seems to be more synergy with the HD 600's and the O2 than the C5.

No it does not, I am a bit bothered by that too but I am planning to buy an Micro iDSD to cover that.

I havent tried the K712, but I have the K702. They have the same Impedance, and I hope they are not different (about how to drive them). As far as I'm concerned, the K702 works very good with the DX90. On High Gain, with volume set around 190-210 it's very nice!
 
If youre looking to buy a pair of headphones to match your DX90, i would advise the Shure 1840 or the Beyerdynamics T90. Both are very good with, though i prefer the Shure!

Yes, got my modded DX90j back today! Thanks Mikhail for being a pleasant guy throughout the whole process. 

I'd love to give you guys first impressions, however the player came back before my refitted K10s despite leaving after and I've been using various loaner earphones in the meantime that I'm not 100% familiar with. Will reserve my thoughts until my K10s are back and I've gotten to compare it directly to a standard DX90. Have to say that they are making the Westone UM2s I'm using now sound better than I could ever imagine they were capable of though.

i'm thinking of getting a balanced amp for the k10or just modding the dx90. wait for your impression to see what i'm going to do.
