I'm not sure which devices you've tried claiming 24/192 capability but of my three DAPs capable of 24bit playback, all three play FLAC, ALAC and WAV lossless. One is iBasso's DX100 so cannot imagine the DX50 is crippled to play only WAV. I guess we will soon know for sure.

I know some devices could not play ALAC lossless. Initially, the AK100 could not but this was fixed with a FW update.

I did not realise "many" devices claiming 24/192 could only play WAV files other than the Tera Player. Which other ones do you refer to?

Well my Colorfly C3 and CK4+.
I checked again and I see specified with the C3 that flac etc. are up to 16/48. I might have overlooked that or they might have added that later.

Powering spinning drive is just too much for a mobile player. Even if it can spin the hdd, it will compromise the play time a lot. What is the point of having a mobile dap then?

Hi Jazzy, how U? How is your Metrum by the way, happy?

I think Colorfly are the only ones to have this limitation.

Hey, yeah I'm pretty happy with my Octave. Thinking of getting a m2tech hiface for 24/192.

mate, get Audiophilleo instead, i bought Audiophilleo 2 Pure Power Unit combo and could not be happier with my decision. it costs more but it will be one stop solution and you will stop worry about any upgrades for long time.
