I would suggest that you give Neutron player a try too if you haven’t already.

https://neutroncode.com/

Although I do not own the DX340 to give you a fair comparison, I find Neutron to sound better than UAPP on my Sony Walkmans(multiple). I find Neutron to have a more calibrated smoother dynamics compared to the more upfront aggressive sounding dynamics of the UAPP which makes the Neutron player more pleasant for long term listening fatigue.

Neutron player has tons of advanced adjustments(like dither, filters, floating point calculations) that can be done to shape the sound even further.

It is paid software like UAPP but there’s a free evaluation period to decide if you like Neutron enough to purchase. Do note neutron is mainly an offline player.
Thanks for the tip, I've had neutron for years. It's great.
However, I can't use it now because I'm stuck with tidal (offline too of course), and neutron doesn't support it. I don't know when I'll rebuild my local music libraries.

That’s a great review you posted. This is another great youtube reviewer I found:

I would suggest to rebuild your local music libraries as much as you can. Do remember with streaming services, you are not the full owner of these songs and these mega corporations and music labels have the power to change their terms of service at the wink of an eye and remove access or increase pricing as they like. I am not saying that you should not use streaming services at all but to use them mainly for music discovery and still try to collect your favourite music in offline formats.

Also like most streaming platforms, Tidal does deploy mandatory loudness normalisation at the source file level, which would make all songs on their platforms follow a certain loudness envelope. This can be a good or bad thing but do understand these loudness normalisation are software algorithms and these doesn’t always work well and might actually degrade sound quality if the algorithm makes a mistake.

There was a break due to the Chinese New Year and I know it was very hard to find in Europe but today I managed to order and on Monday or Tuesday I will already have it in my hands. I'm hoping for quite an update relative to the DX320.

It's also very difficult in HK. I ordered mine before Chinese New Year, it's been a month and still no news. I've seen unsold stock in other stores though but they're the previous batch.

Definitely yes, I'll do it sometime (I always turn off normalization).

I'm listening to AMP14 right now and... I think I'll keep it (also as a sentimental memento of the 320). It has its charm.

My Jutem case is probably gonna ship out in 7-10 days as the person told me, it feels like an eternity haha.
I guess I can wait 2 weeks for it (transit time included).

Anyone get their Jutem case yet?
I've messaged him on Taobao and I was postponed for 1 more week even though 35 days of build time have already elapsed for a couple of days...not cool/ideal but yeah, craftsmanship takes its time + not sure about the number of orders + Chinese New Year holidays etc etc etc :)

Yep, that was me. You'll find my more conservative approach towards debloating here, including some proven optimizations (fully up-to-date).

Btw seems com.android.traceur package is required for OTA updates.
FYI for others. For what it's worth, I followed Stouthart's version a few weeks ago, and have experienced no issues. Thank you Stouthart!

Hi guys, I’ve just updated to the latest FW, I’m suspicious that the super gain has stopped working. The green icon is on when I plugged the 12V DC. I’ve AB both plugged and unplugged and they both sounded similar. The improvement should quite be noticable on previous FW.

I double checked using my power bank which has a meter for output through the DC out. It doesn’t read any output from the DC.

I will confirm with another unit from my local dealer which hasn’t been updated to the newest firmware. But waiting for this to happen, any suggestions on what I could do?

Yeah, but what about the heat generated from 12V DC in super gain mode on the 340? Amp section doesn’t have any heat dissipation now..🤔 I’d imagine you wouldn’t have to go to super gain (12V DC) if you’re happy in high amp gain.
Amp section is covered with only copper sheet and foil directly attache to the body. For amp section i did not use heat tape for isolation as the amp electronic dose not touch the body. No issues with heat dissipation. I did use it and confirmed.

We do not like shielding everywhere as it can close down the sound. I heard this years ago and continue to. Shielding has to be used with prudence and understanding of where and when to use it and a lot of testing.

And we have not skimped on quality on the DX340.

I guarantee you, if you knew our actual cost for production and R&D of the DX340 and many of our products, you would charge more, but we want to make quality and excellent sound available to as many people as possible.

It's been Day 2 since I received my DX340 back from Bloom Audio, I deleted old firmware flash and flashed latest firmware image file.

I don't hear the same hissing problem so far, it seems to have been miraculously fixed for now. Too early to say it but I might not send it to Bloom Audio again for a replacement!

Super Gain mode via LPSU seems to work flawlessly too, not much hissing at all.

Yes sir! Money right onto the spots. The same goes for headphones cables! UsB cables and so on.

This is exactly why I love Ibasso!!!

Do y'all leave the LPSU on when not in use or would it be wise to turn it off?
