The past few days that I've been without my DX220 (returned it w/ RMA), I've been using my long-neglected R6 Pro. Wow, it is so much more responsive than the DX220! All of the Android functionality is much easier to use on the Pro. Then again, it definitely doesn't reach the same level of sound quality.
I'm really looking forward to the next version of the DX220 with a faster processor.
Just realized that all my current DAC are ESS family.
The FiiO M11 pro use dual AK4497EQ is a strong contender with DX220
at similar pricing.
And M11 pro has THX AAA amp integrated, it is interesting.
Anyone heard of the thx aaa amp on portable device?

instead it has its own THX amplifier, I read the technical features on a site that sells it for € 650. I don't know if it can overcome the DX220 ibasso
I saw on Youtube a comparison between Ibasso DX220 and Fiio M11. Even the reviewer gave M11 the winner. But are we sure that M11 is better than Ibasso DX220? To me it honestly seems a bit strange, considering the audio DACs Ibasso owns. Does anyone have to comment?
I have now ordered Ibasso DX220 and we have yet to arrive, but it seems strange to me that they say which M11 audio quality is better.
I had both M11 and DX220 (amp1mk2 and amp9) together for 3 weeks and I ended up selling the M11. I too saw the video when I first bought the M11 but I had to try and decide for myself. Very glad I did.
M11 is a very good device with a phone-like smooth interface, solid construction, and convenient 2.5/3.5/4.4/Coax out. Battery life was good and it does not get hot like DX220. Unfortunately, I did not like 3 aspects.
Did not like how it sounded. I did a lot of comparison between my desktop rig, M11, and DX220. To me, M11 was slightly rolled off at both ends, lacked depth (flat washed out sound), and it had a strange hard left/right pan for the soundstage which gives a false sense of spaciousness. To me, it was a phone-like device with a power that could get enough volume on regular headphones. It actually sounded ok for some music but not for others and I couldn't get over it.
My main IEMs (Oriolus Mk2, Hyla CE-5, Andromeda) all have impedance below FiiO's recommended 16 ohms. Hiss can be heard on all of these IEMs. IEMatch does help but not interested in using it all the time.
They have a bug in the firmware where digital data plays out of audio port when USB is connected to PC. I thought I killed my hearing...
DX220 on the other hand has sound quality nearing my desktop rig (with IEM, still away for headphones) and does all the functions correctly (USB DAC, bluetooth DAC, as a transport over coax, etc). With Amp1Mk2, all my IEMs are perfectly usable. Amp9 has wonderful tone that's worth listening even with IEMatch.
I am quite happy now with DX220 as I can listen and enjoy music rather than complain and check for updates on certain threads/forums As usual, your miles/km/experience may vary...
"Paulo Abreu, post: 15132721, member: 446271 "] Youtube is full of honest and unbiased opinions - and many opinions are: A is better than B, B is better than C, C is better than D and .. D is better than A ...: confused:
Youtube is also full of audio reviews of people with difficult ears: they can't distinguish an mp3 file on an iPod from a DSD515 on DX220
If im lucky, today I will receive my TPU case from TaoBao, it looks like 2 weeks from the buy moment to the arrive and the price its not the cheapest one but there is no more solutions, just some leather Ebay cases and this tpu one... I will post with the case once I receive it

I have the tpu case and it's ok. Fit is ok not the best. I had to modify it a bit around the wheel as it made the wheel very hard to turn. The tempered glass that came with it was also only ok. Touch sensitivity seem to be good though.
