That I do not know, I do know for a fact that for portable player, it would be fun to do Real time DSD Processing. However, using your own DAC-IC by the DAP is still superior to that. The best on the fly DSD processing I have observed by far is from DMP-Z1....but that isn’t going to stand up to offline processing anytime soon

Thought so! At home I am using Roon to do it for my 2ch, and makes a difference to my ears using the RME.

I saw some timw back you mentioned HQplayerPro to do the offline conversion right? Or do you prefer Xivero's XISRC?

I am still trying to find a leather case for my DMP-Z1 and there is None....look like I gotta make one myself ...LoL. The Dx220 comes with yellow leather case, does it ? Why not use the stock case
You cant attach stock case to a belt.

Yes, HQplayerPro is great, but to really enjoy on the live conversion you will need a very beefy built that is dedicated to music. But there will be many things involved to make it sound good. The DX220 is totally capable of being used as external DAC - DSD512 from a good Build. Do I still prefer Xivero ? Yes, Offline conversion is better than on the fly ....however, you will be trading for a lot of memory.

For the size of DMP-Z1 you’ll need a backpack to carry around.

Xivero is used to offline process any of your typical PCM such as WAV or FLAC into DSD512, which the Dx220 can play back. You will need to take it out of the leather cover and allow it to get cooled down due to howmuch power it consumes in this mode.

I see. Cool! That is interesting!
hmm... if we're only playing DSD512, what type of battery life are we looking at? 2 to 3 hrs?
Do you keep the DX220 plugged in to be charged as well?

It took me a bit to transition to the Amp 9 as it is something different out of the iBasso range of amps.

Most noticeable was changing from Amp 9 to another amp and then experiencing less pleasure and listening satisfaction.

Now trying different earphones to find my sweet spot combination
