I worked the iBasso table with @jamato8 at the Axpona Audio Show and we debuted the DX220. I have pics coming now to this thread. The unit sounds amazing, it’s completely new. Inside and outside.

The sound is mature with the brand new AMP1 MarkII. The screen has the highest resolution of any DAP on the market today.

We were informed by iBasso today that they will cost $899 plus shipping.

Wait until you guys hear this....

Probably it’s worth noting on first page that any comments from icefalcon and jamato8 are biased due to the fact both are under IBasso’s pay. That’s me spelling it out nicely.

I agree that you have to meet hype with a healthy degree of skepticism, especially when it comes to new products. At the same time, I can tell you that both icefalcon and jamoto8 genuinely believe in the DX220.

I agree with toughnut that you should know where someone is coming from, and I agree with Jmills that believing something doesn't make it true.

I'm saying that neither icefalcon or jamato would hype up a product just because they're getting compensated.

This doesn't mean you have to believe them but that their comments are worthy of being weighed rather than dismissed out of hand.

AMP1 MkII was based upon AMP1 Ti and AMP1 mod version (presumably the same one by @Whitigir, they have mentioned the usage of Panasonic Polymer Black Tantalum Capacitor in that Facebook post).

I think different.

Antenna shield in point no.4 is like shield on wifi antenna, I believe.

TDK is shield on electronic parts to prevent interference with RF/EMI.

This is probably right. I was also told that there was some improved shielding on the DX220 internals, but I'm getting the feeling that it is not like the TDK sheeting. The TDK is applied easily enough and will be well worth doing once you have a 220.
