OK It's been burning in with the 3.5mm burn in cable since 5pm. To be honest when I first unpacked it and plugged in my LCD2's I was not happy. It can't drive them very well. So I said to myself, hang on...let this baby go through some burn-in and see what happens.

The AMP9 is not good with the LCD2's.

It doesn't have enough power for them. I was at 100 in Pure Mango and over 130 in Android mode just for decent sound.

Now with the IEM's...that's a different story. It sounded "ehhh" in the beginning with the IT03's and after 7hours of burn in it sounds GREAT and getting better. Same with the IT01's. I'm using my normal test music FLAC files and am very happy with the sound so far. It's warm, deep, and fast.

On Genesis's Tonight, Tonight, Tonight, the bass is as if you're right there in the studio hearing the drum track. That's nuts. RICH sounding...LUSH.

Very happy with this!

Damn I can't wait to get my IT04's back from China!

Hmmm Sean, it's kind of early to say. BUT...

DUDE...

Sweet Home Alabama sounds RIDICULOUS. The soundstage isn't huge, but it's...how to say this? Accurate. Really accurate.

With eyes closed, on my ass-kicking little IT01's, it sounds like I'm there, actually there, in the studio when that song was recorded. Even the beginning, when Ronnie Van Zant says..

"Turn it up"...sounds like you're in the room.

ZZ Top's "Rough Boys"...bass is impactful, vocals are forward...damn.

OK last song for tonight...2Cello's "Smooth Criminal" just blew me away. Yes...sounded better than AMP8. There I've said it.

After manually applying lastest update. Lurkers Mod is partially working. Playstore still perfectly functional, however the USB Audio App for running USB DAC mode internally is now missing. I'll wait for Lurker's update before repatching the current version.

I don't know why some want to use the HD650 with a smaller amp like the AMP9. I find they only sound good balanced but also need a lot of power to sound decent. I find the AMP9 works great with sensitive headphones, like the Focal Stellia, excellent but something that needs a lot more power like the HD650 or the LCD2, makes no sense to me. Use what is appropriate for what is at hand. The SR1 also sound very good with the AMP9 but again, they aren't hard to drive but the better the amp, the better they sound.
