Looks very promising. Let's hope they release details of the hardware, etc before April/May when they are supposed to release the DX220. With the R6 Pro available already and the teaser on the Fiio M11 there is a good competition brewing for what appears to be similar price target.

Paul - please share any details you can with us...

Cheers,
Tim

Yeah well R6 Pro is available but the firmware is not stable yet still running a beta there...

Will it still need a 4.4 mm TRRRS PLUG? I want to reterminate my IEM now to be ready.

Amp8 will have 4.4mm only, and that is a sure thing

Found this...

iBasso AMP8 3.5pro 3.5mm Balanced Headphone Amplifier Card for iBasso DX150 DX200

Transistor

High voltage and high current

Rich and wide

The AMP8 adopts a newly designed discrete component line, and has the characteristics of high voltage and high current output. After long-term intensive research and development, dozens of revisions have been made, and finally THD+N is achieved to -113dB, which makes rational use of the large driving force of the transistor. Also ensure that the output enough HiFi.

2700mA power, like a generator

The output selects a power transistor with a current up to 2700mA, which provides great current output capability, effectively guarantees the restoration of instantaneous large dynamic signals, and drives various high-current headphones, which is easy and natural. Compared with AMP4s, the high-frequency is more clear and fierce, and the high-frequency is elegant and flexible, while the low-frequency is solid.

3.5mm Balanced pro

Maximum output level:6.2Vrms

Frequency range:15Hz-45KHz/-0.3dB

THD+N:0.00023%, -113dB(Without load@2.5Vrms)

0.00023%,-113(300Ωload@2.5Vrms)

Noise ratio:125db

Dynamic Range:125db

Crosstalk:-120dB

Will be an issued if somebody that not aware of 3.5 mm SE plug in....

Sure thing is going to be amo8 with 3.5 balanced pro (?). Can Amp8 and amp4s with 4.4 be used with DX220? What is about amp9-Nu tube?

It better have 4.4. 2.5 sucks.

I bet it won’t have AMP8 in 3.5 Pro.

Except DX150 which came with a specific AMP6, every DX200 came with AMP1 (granted the Ti came with a very much upgraded AMP1).
I’d love iBasso to fit DX220 with AMP1 Ti, this amp is so special but I am not dreaming not likely to happen.

Maybe an evolved AMP1, the principle of the default AMP is to have both balanced and single ended and a reference tuning.
My interest is on AMP9 obviously NuTubes are so sexy :p
