Here it is: Add-on v.1.17
  1. Compatible with 1.06.041. Backward comatible with 1.05.036.
  2. Magisk updated to version 18.1.
  3. Kernel parameters tuned to prevent CPU overheating (with great help of @Anglomilian).
In addition to the official release notes for 1.06.041, I'd add:
  • If you experienced sudden shutdowns or misbehaviour of DX200 with previous Android 8.1 versions, but no problems with Android 6.01, please try this, along with my add-on.
  • YouTube full screen playback works!
That was really fast, Lurker. As usual, thank you so much for your effort.

OK I think my DX200 battery has truly died. It does play for about 20-30 mins then just shuts off (this is with the new 1.06 fw). I may try of flash it back to 2.1.94 and see if's better again but would prefer not to be stuck on that fw just for a functional DX200.

Try charging it while using it. I've flashed mine from 1.06 to android 6 then flash back again to the stock firmware on the first page. Mine play for about 5 mins and it shuts off for each fw. Then i decided to charge it while playing it, it no longer shut off. I've contacted Paul to get a new battery for 15USD excluding shipping. After changing the battery, the dx is back to normal.

I also have tried to flash it back but failed because it just shut down in the middle of process. Repeated the process a couple of times but in vain.
Strangely though, my DX200 suddenly revived on its own and no more shut off since. Not sure what has triggered but okay in the end.
Gained no sense of security though and ordered a new battery anyway.
DX200 has been around a couple of years and they start dying here and there now and it's about the time that they should announce
a battery replacement program or some sort. I am sure they gain even greater sense of customer support then.
DX200 with a new battery does not prevent me from getting a DX220 on top...

I switch out to amp4s first instead of rollback to stock firmware because my amp8 have the mod. With the amp4s, no shutdown. Now, I put the amp8 back but this time I placed some kapton tape on the black amp case near the positive cap mod. Still in progress, no shutdown so far. Will update again

So far, no shutdown after the taping of the amp 8. I didn't update since it's not conclusive.
I have updated to 1.06 with Lurker's fw 1.17. Maybe I'll order a battery as well

I think you will need to use an OTG cable- but I have never used the iBasso, but have tried the Hugo 2. I use iFi OTG cables, or a proprietary Sony one to connect daps/phones to it.

So last night I went to update the DX200 with new iBasso firmware & subsequent Lurker0 mod. Problems arose.

I downloaded both updates to my Win10 desktop. I connected DX200 to comp and a USB error popped up. Win10 will not recognize the DX200. Okay, I simply removed the SD card from dap and used a card reader to copy the 1.06.041 zip file over to it. The update successfully installed using the dap settings. But when connecting the DX200 back to computer the USB error still happens. The DX200 also goes into Android Recovery mode. All of my other toys (see sig) work flawlessly connecting to computer. As a result I cannot install Lurker0 firmware since the Rockchip Factory Tool will not detect DX200. Ideas? I've been perusing the interwebs for troubleshooting steps but nothing has worked so far. I even did a system factory reset to no avail.

Do you have the latest USB/DAC driver installed from our website?

Hey, thanks for replying so quickly, Paul.

Yes. To be sure I reinstalled it (v3.34.0) and it still comes up with error.

DX200 by itself still works fine. I will see if it works connected to a laptop when I have a chance to try.

@Signal2Noise, can you try another cable and/or USB port? The preferred port is one soldered on the motherboard.

By the way, you always can install the add-on using bootable SD-card.

I have the cable connected to the front I/O panel so I will indeed try connecting to back mobo-connected USB port.

Did not know about installing mod from SD so will look into it. Cheers, Lurker0.

Got an error trying through an USB hub, but no errors connecting it on the MB. Going through the hub is not an issue for music transfer, just for the lurker firmware add-on.

Just got my Dx200 several days ago. Not a single issue. Bought it used on this site and have been amazed at the performance. downloaded Tidal and currently loading a 400 sd card with my stuff. I keep it out of the cover during heavy use ie downloading. It runs a bit hot, but not so much during play time. Is this normal?

@Lurker0 may I please ask why you stated the above? For now it seems like my battery is ok only with Android 6.x (and dies prematurely with Android 8.1/Oreo). Scratch that, it died after almost an hour :D. OK definitely a battery problem then. Hehehe...

Your statement seems to imply you know, or may have an idea, what's going on in the backend. If you had posted about this already (e.g. that Android 8.1 does something funny to the battery on the DX200, or whatever), I apologise if I've missed your post.
