I guess you mean the amp modules with different outputs since the DAP itself only has amp1 using 3.5 SE output which is usually for any kind of IEMs whereas if you get a “better” different amp modules like amp8 with balanced 4.4, amp3 with balanced 2.5, amp5 and amp7 with SE 3.5 and the new coming soon amp8 with 3.5pro I guess balanced too.
Yes, the most popular amp4/amp4s and amp8 with 4.4 are using with better UIEMs and/or CIEMs you get much better SQ.

The issue with battery indicator. I think that my 15% is actually 0-1%. And I want my dap to show it properly.

Just use your DX200 under Android without turning it off for some days, and it should be OK then.

Does anyone know of an app that it is able to record the audio stream coming in over USB from a laptop?

I don't mean like USB Audio Recorder Pro that takes the signal from a USB Audio interface.

I need to be able to record the audio processed on my Mac that outputs to the DX200 when it is in USB DAC mode.

Definitely amp8 sounds much better than amp1 but if your Westone W80 has 3.5 SE connector you should use amp1 whereas amp8 has balanced 4.4 output connector then you need to switch a cable for w80.

As it was mentioned already, while amp8 is one of their best sounding amps, W80 comes with Epic and ALO cables terminated with 3.5mm single ended plug. Thus, you will have to update your cable to use with AMP8. Keep in mind, DX200 already comes with AMP1, which has both 3.5mm and 2.5mm headphone outputs, and if you are enjoying the pair up with W80 - no need to upgrade. But if you want to scale up the performance, AMP8 is definitely the way to go.

Now, speaking of cables and W80 , iBasso has a new 4.4mm plug and about to release CB12s cable with 4.4mm termination. Absolutely LOVE their new right angled plug!!! It looks cool, has a good grip, easy to remove, and doesn't stick out from the DAP. And I heard they will also have 2.5mm to 4.4mm pigtail adaptor (CA04) based on this plug, hopefully soon and I'm sure it will be reasonably priced. The pair up of the cable with W80 is nearly the same as ALO cable, but the big advantage is no microphonics, no memory effect (CB12s is soft), and no annoying memory wire. Took first 2 pictures last night under the kitchen lights, while w/W80 just now in a daylight, so the color tone of the marble is different
