It would pose an issue for Quality control, iBasso has very strict QC and does a great job at making all of those AMP modules really good. I mean, a reputed company would probably do a good job, but they would still require the main board from iBasso to have the connectors and all...
Tidal will not automatically update in the DX200. I just reinstall a new .apk after several updates. It will advise you if it is out of date, but you can still use it even if it is not the latest build.
As many know we have the AMP4 4.4 TRRRS coming out very soon. The specifications are basically the same as the AMP3 but the sound is a little different. The AMP5, which is a single ended amp with plenty of power. Both very soon. We were off for 1 week and are now back at it.

I choose to use the stock iBasso firmware as it is simpler to update and I do not have a suitable computer to run the batch tool, hence I manually update my Tidal app from time to time.
Received my DX200 today, so far I am impressed with the build quality. I have only been able to listen to it with my CIEMs single ended as I don't have any 2.5 balanced connectors.

I really have no need for custom firmware as Tidal is the only app I use with my DX200. I use a Chromebook for most of my computing needs and a Linux desktop for the few things that I can't do with my Chromebook.
