The USB-C is on the top and it is regular charging at 1.5 amperes per hour.
We are getting much closer. We have new boards coming in. The sound elevates above the DX100 with a beautiful extended treble and natural midrange. The bass is solid and extended. These are all things you would expect to hear from a manufacture but I think many are in for an enjoyable musical experience.

10x Paul...and make a good eq for bass lovers and for those who listen ald music wich is recordet so so...

Price is higher than dx100.

did i read correctly from the external forum post? 2 X ESS 9028pro in DX200?

heat and battery life could be a concern?

Yeah. I am surprised at how they apply 2x 8-channel DAC.

Yeah. I am surprised at how they apply 2x 8-channel DAC.

Hifiman and Fiio X7 already use similar setups (with ESS9018 which also has 8 channels) and sound great (especially the 901).

Yes. 2x ESS9028 PRO. If everbody think that heat is an issue, then they may consider changing it to 1x ESS9028 Pro.

They have already finalized their design. I think they would base their technical choices more on their own testing and expertise than on "If everbody think that heat is an issue".

Thank Mim! Wow That makes me would like to test DX200 much more. Ibasso are doing it.

However to be fair, some DAP makers managed to get great sound out of the portable version of the ESS 9018-2m (Calyx M and many others), and this version has only 2 channels. It is not clear if the 8 channel desktop version is not a bit of an overkill. Quite strangely, the Calyx has crappy battery life...

DX100 and R10 also use the 8-channel, desktop ES9018S chip.

EDIT: The 9018S uses 100mW compared to 500mW for the 9028pro. If they are still using the desktop variant chip instead of a mobile 9028 then power consumption and heat must be addressed whether single or dual chip.

In theory, when correctly implemented, 8 used DAC channels could somewhat improve the specs and measurements.

Edit: According to the baidu post, iBasso didn't receive the ES9028PRO chip samples until August due to delays in shipping and they then needed to make adjustments on the player and hardware infrastructure to get everything right, hence the delay. It also says that the design of the PCB is now finalised and that production will start soon.

from their posts...

ibasso rep mentioned that they are tweaking or have tweaked the battery or current in the DAP, ensuring optimum current supplying to the earphone hole.
currently they are trying to improve heat dissipation of the DAP because alot of heat is generated from the DAC.

We are using 2 9028 Pro.

That is correct. It is coming along.

16/44 is not a heat issue. As you go up in current demand with DSD, some more heat will be produced but it will be within a normal range.
