I bought them for 2.8k chinese yuan, around 425 usd.

I haven't used any other IEM's besides these since I got them, but finally tried my 2000J's and see the difference. The 3001's are instantly more full, engaging and totally more vibrant. The bass is fundamentally better, the treble is less fatiguing (even though I never considered the 2000J's fatiguing before) - the music is just more, well, ALIVE. I think it's time to sell the 2000J's and get different backup phones for the 30001's. Right now the best backup phones for the 3001's would be well, a 2nd pair of the 3001's

I've been listening a lot to the FLC8s, getting ready for my next review. It's most excellent, and, with the right filters, gets close to the DK3001. Would make a good backup set.

I had the FLC8s and loved them but preferred the 2000J's over them by a very small margin so I sold those and kept the 2000J's.

I love the DUNU cables and the DK-3001 also comes with an extra balanced cable. But to answer your question - No, I haven't used any upgraded cables with it because I like the stock ones and am more than happy with the sound.
