I've spent two weeks with the Dunu Glacier, a $1350 USD hybrid IEM featuring a single dynamic driver, four balanced armatures, and four electrostatic drivers. 43Ω impedance and 109 dB/mW sensitivity. Thanks to
@DUNU-Topsound and the Audiogeek EU tour group!
The sound signature has forward bass and upper-mids/treble, making for an exciting, energetic tuning. The tradeoff is that the mids are on the lighter/thinner side, particularly noticeable with male vocals. Despite the forward treble, there's no uncomfortable sibilance or harshness through the upper-mids/treble region.
Details, cymbals, and spatial cues come across nicely, with forward but natural tone. The bass is perhaps the most impactful I've heard to date (even more so than Kiwi Ears Punch), with a satisfying thump/physicality that feels well-balanced between mid-bass and sub-bass. The bombastic bombastic bass is a lot of fun, but is riding a thin line between fun and boomy/unrefined, offering less sharpness to the leading edge/attack than other sets.
The Glacier really shines with pop/electropop (Charli XCX) and hip-hop/trip-hop (Angel by Massive Attack), where the energetic presentation makes for an engaging listen. I can see it being a clear upgrade for people who enjoy the tuning of Binary Acoustics Chopin or Moondrop Variations.
Build-wise, the shells are a bit heavy and on the larger side, though the nozzles aren't too wide. Fit was adequate with average isolation.
This set was a lot of fun, and I'm sure it's a set people looking for this kind of tuning would thoroughly enjoy. While I enjoyed the set a lot, the mids presentation wasn't quite to my preference – I personally prefer more weight/body to vocals.
I'll be posting a comparison between Dunu Glacier, Letshuoer Cadenza 12, and CraftEars Omnium soon!
