That driver configuration sounds expensive. So 4BA for treble like some JH IEMs?
Again, that’s my understanding. I’ve had only very limited communication with Dunu about the Vulcan and as far as I know they haven’t finalized it yet.

Super excited about the Vulcan. IIRC the config is 2DD+4BA. Going for that dedicated DD for the mids that other manufacturers have been having some pretty great success with at higher price points.
I think I read somewhere that they were going to use two 10mm DDs, which I would assume are both for the bass.

Two BAs are for the upper-midrange and lower treble, whereas two BAs are for the lower treble and upper treble. One DD is for the sub-bass and lower bass, while the other DD is for the upper bass and lower-midrange.

After collecting some valuable feedback at CanJam NYC, as well as further internal evaluation, VULKAN is close to being finalized, but the lockdown in southern China has delayed all of our current projects by a number of weeks.

We were mistaken about the diameter, which is why we told people not to quote us on it at the show. But both dynamic drivers are 8 mm in size. The two have very different materials, however. The true woofer uses a structural foam cell material with an independent surround, while the other driver is a titanium-plated conventional driver.

Oh this is a very interesting configuration :astonished:. Eagerly awaiting the official release.

so, the mid is covered by DD and BA, that is interesting, I wonder how it will sound.
Might be a challenge to blend DD & HA sound in the range.
This is the first of a half and half mid design I think.

Very excited. Hope that some units would be available in Australia stores near release day for impressions. The Titan S just arrived at my local store last month.

Does this include the Vernus that was recently teased? Still looking forward to hearing more about that one.

There's currently a Dunu SA4 listing on ebay. 5 available. Did someone steal some early samples or what's this about?
The SA4 has been selling in China for the past month. The version that we'll be releasing internationally will be different; aside from its appearance, almost everything else will be different --- driver configuration, tuning, etc. We opted for this variant specific to the international market for multiple reasons.

Please be aware that the listing on eBay is:
  1. Unauthorized --- stores in China are prohibited from selling the Studio SA4 overseas; thus, the product will not have international warranty support.
  2. Incorrect in Pricing --- the store seems to have arbitrarily listed a price of $389.99 USD

The VERNUS was not shown at CanJam NYC last month. We intended to make an announcement on it late last week --- on the first day of spring (and not too far off from St. Patrick's Day) --- but the Omicron variant had other plans.

Ah. I had no idea it was released in China already. That would explain the listing, then. I had no intention of purchasing it as I'd rather buy directly or from an authorized seller, anyway.

Is the Vernus still on the books and just postponed or was it scrapped?

VERNUS is just postponed (like all of our projects).
